Harley's '05 LE Busa Rebuild

Check the mirrors out on this page, on sale by Pashnit. A lot of people really like them. I actually like the stock ones.

You'll LOVE the Pazzo levers !! I don't think the Alien head is too bad, you can keep it kinda quiet if you want to. I LOVE them. If I had a stretch on my bike I'd have one (I don't like them on Gen. 1 stock length bikes jmo).

I can't wait to see the finished pictures !!!

Hey thanks! Just ordered them through Pashnit. One more thing on my list DONE! :beerchug:

I will look for some pics of a black Alien Head system tonight on a stretched bike and see how I feel on it. Thanks again for the assistance.

If you are looking for something a bit different for a look, we're only talking a little over $40 bucks here.

This incident has brought a whole new level to how I feel about imigration. Not that just because he was illegal makes him crappy driver, but it was my crash so I get to make up my own story

You should have got an 08 front end. It's a direct swap if you have the trees.

I wanted to do a front end with radial mount calipars (I was looking at GSXR 1000 because I wasn't aware of the '08 swap). Also for me to get all the other mods in that I wanted to do the extra cost of calipers and such may have made it tough. I may still look into it if I find a good deal on a complete set.

I've never heard this exhaust, but LOVE the looks !! And there's not that many of them out there either.

https://www.hayabusa.org/forum/gene.../132465-muzzy-m10-full-exhaust-installed.html

I was looking at that as opposed to the Alien Head, I didn't notice that the AH is another $250 to get it in black. I am just thinking $1,345 is a little steep :duh: I am close to being able to rebuild the bike and pay off my credit card with the amount I got back. If I don't have to put any on the CC that would be great but I think exhaust is going to put me over that edge.

Next thing on the list is a front fender. I want to but the GSXR 600/750/1000 front fender on. Based on this thread: Gsxr-1000-front-fender-busa.html. It says any 01-02 fender will work. However it is an older thread and I am trying to find an updated year range for what fenders will work. I want to go with CF because I think it looks cool and then I don't have to prep/paint/sand/buff yet another part. Broadening the year range would sure make it easier to locate a CF fender for a reasonable cost.

I picked up my 08 front end complete, calipers, master cylinders, trees, top clamp for 400.00. Then I picked up a set of the 09 GSXR1k mono blocs. Keep your eyes open

Glad you are ok and the bike is coming along. Ever think about doing bar end mirrors. I run a single bar end on the left and the lense alows me to see the left and over to the right behind the bike, just not next to it. Very clean look with mirror block offs.

Smither's is great to work with. Customer service is awesome and quality is top shelf. I take my Busa 4 hours each way to have Steve work on it.

I have ran bar end mirrors on choppers before and didn't mind them on there, I just didn't like the style on sportbikes. Those CF trim panels look great!

That's a trek, must be worth it. His labor prices sure seem reasonable, every time they tell me what they charge for something I am always pleasantly surprised.

The service must be pretty damn good to go that far to get the bike serviced! Or it's just an execuse to go for a ride.

I love these days. I recieved a bunch of stuff in the mail today

Headlight came in from an Ebay seller, dirty but good shape. I am happy for $85.

New top clamp from Ball Z Motorsports arrived, looks fantastic.

Front end assembly also arrived, seems to be in great condition. There is some minor paint bubbles on the lower legs. I am wondering if maybe some brake fluid ate at it a little.

Swingarm arrived from All-things-chrome. The axle adjusters and brake bar were missing from the package though :banghead: So I called them up and Daniel got me taken care of quickly. He is sending everything out today and including a brake bar eliminator. Good guys, everyone makes a mistake here and there.

Going to snap some pictures of the parts tonight since I won't be dropping everything off to the shop until the rest of the swingarm parts get here on Wednesday.
