Harley's '05 LE Busa Rebuild

You work fast, be done in no time:thumbsup:

I hope it's riding by the end of the month! Going to order the Alien Head through Smithers and get it installed and tuned ASAP. Hopefully that is done in the next two weeks. I should have the body work done by then is the plan

Woodcraft cover just arrived. Got it for $159 with free shipping, drop shipped from Woodcraft. This is a beautiful piece

Dropped all the parts off to Smithers last night. While I was there I had them put several other things on the list.

Power Commander
Brocks Alien Head (Black as long as they can get it to me for under a certain amount)
Pair valve block off
BMC Filter
Tune and custom map
EK ZZZ Chain
Extended rear brake line
Lowering Links
Front Tire

The shop is also going to see if they have a couple other take off parts I need to get the body work and such put back together. I need ram air tubes and they thought they might have a front fairing piece laying around in good shape.

Can't say enough good things about the shop :beerchug:

At this pace, you will have busa back on the road sooner and in better shape than it was before.

**drooling**

Note to myself, must get one soon.

I am adding a little custom touch to that one. I am going to draft out the shape of that milled area above the Woodcraft text and have a piece of aluminum milled out that fits in that pocket. Then I am going to have it black or gray annodized, I will have the graphic artist I use for all my propotional stuff do some artwork and then have that laser etched on. I can either leave it like that or send it back for a second color annodizing which would only stick to the exposed area that was etched for a two-tone effect.

Ordered up a 6000K HID kit for the low beam today and am going to do the switchback mod too I believe. I am grabbing the front signals off a board member and just need to get the rest of the wiring and parts sorted out to do the mod. I'm going to go watch them tune the rig when it's time, really looking forward to that.

Little by little...

I am VERY VERY glad you are still among the living. HOWEVER, what the hell ahppened to the azzhat that pulled-out in-front of you? hopefully he payed Bubba a visit in jail and then got smacked down with a hefty fine. Good luck with the rebuild. Sorry, nothing to offer at this time.

He was an illegal alien, no license, no insurance. I had my court date for the wreck last Monday. Of course he didn't show, mainly because who knows if it was even his name and he was deported.

So if anyone "runs into" Hector Ramirez..... :poke:

More parts ordered today

I ordered a integrated rear tail light/blinker combo with smoked lens off ebay. I plan to cut off the lower "reflector" area.

Also grabbed a Tiger Undertail just to keep from rubbing as much as possible.

The exhaust is installed and the swingarm is on! Going down to Smithers today over lunch to go check it out! I'm stoked! :cheerleader:

Just got back from Smithers. The exhaust looks and sounds great. Didn't run it for long since the airbox is out right now. Just a quick couple shots from the iPhone, no sound clips

The ride hieight is much higher right now because the lowering links are in the highest position and the extended swing arm exagerates that. They won't be lowering it down until after the dyno tune. Since the undertail isn't on yet he doesn't want to bottom out the tire when he straps it down. The wheelbase is set at 4" over in this picture but it will but will be at 6" over when finished. The shop that I got the swingarm from forgot the axle adjuster bolts so the swing arm isn't finished up yet. I will be cutting off the stock exhaust hanger bracket from the passenger sets.

Started work on designing the new license plate bracket I am going to have machined. So far I have just started doing the basic layout of the stock passenger peg/exhaust bracket. Going to start on the mount itself tomorrow I hope.

Getting the exact location and layout of the bracket will be based upon the final ride height of the bike. So I will be finalizing the design once the bike is closer to wrapped up.
