From what I've read the Senate won't get enough Republican votes. Perspective is everything but what I perceive to be fear in some of the senators is misplaced. They are afraid of killing their careers opposing Trump when perhaps they are destroying themselves protecting him.
His legal problems might be as bad.
So your opinion that it is ludicrous not to continue impeachment through the senate is based on a maybe it will pass?

You sound like another hater... President Trump never started an attack on the Capitol... Even if he said something that you and others say was the reason it happened the plain as day fact remains... President Trump wasn't there. It the same thing if you were charged with that specific crime... if you are not there then you cannot be convicted of any wrong doing... Its called freedom of speech... and in case you forgot it also applies to the president

No, I agree with Senator Durbin‘s statement in post #99 as to why (every) American should want this to proceed. The fact that trump wasn’t physically among the insurgents also makes no difference. Manson wasn’t present either. Was he prosecuted only because his conviction was pretty much assured? No, he was prosecuted because it was the right thing to do.

As far as Manson goes he had relationships with the killers for a period of time... Did the president have personal relationships with the protestors?

This president didn't divide us... Obama said "Change is coming to America". Did you miss that famous statement uttered who knows how many times?
Nobody here has a logical argument for that statement by Obama and will not address it.
The only changes we need to accomplish are making sure our government stays true to the founding documents that protects the citizens that pay for all of it. Without our founding documents we wouldn't have the country we have now in spite of all the legislation that gets written into law that is bordering on unconstitutional in its reach.

I write it out physically every day so I stay humble and centered.
What I have earned is valuable to me... even though Obama said to a plumber I believe... "You didn't build that". As an operating engineer and a welder among other things I find that rather repulsive. See what I mean about devisieness? Obama also said you can't use the words below while working for the governement like ... "Islamic radical"... and the guy threw out a lot more politically incorrect crap than that.
So, how do you avoid the president of your own country? I guess moving out of the country would be one way... but... not a practical way. However... I ignore the installed puppet as much as possible...

Zerks you can't claim to be humble and say you're repulsed by a comment take completely out of context, and as knowledgeable as you are you have to have known that. Sure Obama chose to leave those words together in a sentence, but it was while making the point of how crucial teamwork is, that behind every success story there are people in the backround that contributed greatly. Ironically that deception was started by a man I respect quite a bit, Mitt Romney, or should I say his campaign. Obama's promise of change was put through the blender by the Senate, that churned his overhaul of a terrible health care system into an unidentifiable mess. I thought Obama should have used a heavy Trumpian hand but he chose not to. Obama was not perfect, nor was George W., but both men had the welfare of the country in mind while Trump was just playing reality show with his own interests in the spotlight.
I know we don't agree, but I don't attack you; I debate what you claim to be fact.
