high hp cobra wants to race............

If the cobra is a 10sec at 1/4 mile keepin in mind traction factor at the track, roll-on it will be much faster. I wouldn't do it unless you have a hair dryer or juice on the busa.

The guy on the busa in that vid was sleeping on the job, plus it looked like he was in the wrong gear. Fast car, slow rider

how far are you going to run? 1/4 1/2 or a mile after start. what is the top end of the cobra, twin turbo's and right gears he could run right up there. keep your money, but run for fun. Good luck

Whats up with the 50 mph roll, Make him run it old school. That is if you can keep that front end down on the Busa.

As for the Video, Kinda hard to tell. The Cobra got the hit, So right off the bat he is going to lead, and it did sound like the busa might have been 1 gear to high, also video quit just after they took off. The Cobra got the jump cause they went off his hit and the video wasnt long enough to see if the Busa was gonna make up the difference.

Ohhhhh by the way At the end of the Video it said no laws were broken :rofl::rofl:

What's the point?

race 2 (rs)
n.
1. Sports
a. A competition of speed, as in running or riding.
b. races A series of such competitions held at a specified time on a regular course: a fan of the dog races.
2. An extended competition in which participants struggle like runners to be the winner: the presidential race.
3. Steady or rapid onward movement: the race of time.

I'm very surprised that a Hayabusa owner wouldn't know this.

I race high horse cars every saturday night on the street. And I'm talking about 500hp civics that think their the sh*t and 500- 700hp muscle cars that are the sh*t. Tell him you want to do a 20 roll and then a 60 roll both to 150. The 20 roll will put him in the middle of first and in his powerband and he'll break traction and the 60 roll will put him at the end of second or the start of third. You have to pick the speeds to start by where he is shifting. As for you on the the roll on start in first and dont short shift. And if by chance you do lose then ask him what he paid for his upgrades to beat a STOCK bike. And then tell him congrats and you'll see him when you go turbo. I also like how they got a permit to do street racing from the local government.

its going down this weekend. alot of other 500+hp cars will be there too. it will more then likely be on video. i talked to him, told him there was alot of talk about how the race would turn out and we agreed to run for fun. they usely run up to about 140-150. the cobra has a 6speed tranny thats not stock

My '95 camaro runs 11.0 in the 1/4 and I know it couldn't beat a 'busa even on a roll. My best run against a bike would be from a dig because I know I could out launch one. N/a it makes in the neighborhood of 480 to the wheels. Also on a roll you'd have a huge aerodynamic advantage. I think it'd be a good race with the bike coming out ahead, never know until it's a done deal. Let us know how it turns out. :D

your gonna get your ass handed to you. Sorry. a stock bus isn't gonna run with a TT cobra, at 800rwhp that car is probably capable of running high/mid 9's. Friends of mine own Street Lethal Performance here in PA and the one owner has a built supercharged Mach I running 9.90's and the other guy's TT cobra freakin up and left HIM like he hit a wall from a 40 roll.

video coming next week 9.90 in the 1/4 STILL isn't a 9.75. should i take my cans back off so ill be able to hear when to shift w/o looking? gonna be hard to hear the bike over that car

Whatever the outcome is just be careful and know that the guy in the stang has spent tons more money than you just to go fast.:beerchug:

Keep the cans on you'll need all the torque you can get. You shouldn't need to look down to know where to be shifting at you should be able to tell be the engine noise.

The Cobra with a good driver will take a stock Busa from a 50 roll on. You are hitting the Cobra at prime, from a dead start it would sit smoking the tires.

I watched the video a few more times and the guy driving the Cobra knows how to drive. Hes only about 3/4 in it at launch and then goes wot. Thats why hes not breaking traction. It looks like hes only running 295 tires and their tall. So you need to get the jump on him or you probly wont have a chance. Im staring to question your talent by some of your questions like whether or not to remove the cans. And where to be shifting. I think you need to go hit the street and work on a few things before you race and if your still running stock gears you better go drop the cash and regear before you play. Good luck to ya and remember to wear your friggin gear.

Looking at the video and LISTENING to it, the kid on the Busa is not ready, he definatley had a bad jump on it. With that said, like Pinky said, the kid in the Cobra can drive, he knows that car well, and you don't just throw TT on that car, you build it up over time, and I am sure that he has had some time to adjust to that car. If you watch him, he doesn't walk away from those cars, he runs away.....that not stock trans and your stock busa are a bad combo......I love to run, but man.....be careful, I don't know how long you have had that bike, but PLEASE GEAR UP!!!! I am willing to bet that the kid has $30 large in the engine of the car if not better. Good Luck!

whats the point? he wants to prove his $80,000.00 car can beat a $10,000.00 bike? Real races happen from dead stop. He just wants to race you in his power band, tell him you want a race from 120mph

be safe.

You already beat him in an officially recognized and legal way and you both have your time slips to prove it.. If he insists on another race tell him you will see him at the track and race him there, why give him the advantage of being able to do a roll on ?? It is a no win situation and you could likely end up hurt or in BIG trouble.. Don't take the risk man, it is not worth the reward IMO... :beerchug:
