high hp cobra wants to race............

Just drink a big old glass of Metamucil 8-10 hours beforehand. That ought to do it!

But seriously, how many of these posts does it take to realize that this kinda crap is giving us all a black eye!:banghead: Tell him to stick his race and move on!

Thats what I'm talking about, grow up ! My dad can beat up your dad shid! If nothing else, it's not too smart to race cars on a motorcycle. Ever see what happens to a car when it breaks an axel or some driveline component? If you want to race, take it to the track.???

Don't race in the streets IMO. I think you would loose but that doesn't matter don't race in the streets. ( a 40 shot nos should send the pony packing though)

All you guys keep telling him to quit but hes already said he would race. And telling him to back out because he might get hurt or die.....Whats with that? Anyone of us could die at anytime on our bikes but now that hes racing you think he has a better chance of getting hurt. Thats like saying dont go 200 mph or dont see if you can go 170 in the 1/4 mile. Thats bull. If you do lose then congradulate him on his win and move on. But to sit here and tell him not to race.....come on guys thats saying youve never ripped the throttle and played. Hes asking for advise and over half of you tell him not to race. Its apparent that hes going to race so why not just help him do the best he can?

End of rant.

Its been a bad day and its now raining so im pissed that I cant ride. Sorry, dont mean to anger anyone but seriously.....

Strap the frontend, lower the rear and install a 16th front sprocket.

Your biggest holdup on your Busa is the clutch. OEM clutches tend to have an on/off feel to them and it's real easy to dump too much by accident when launching.

All I can say to this is "WTFE"
Do it. It is his toy he can play with it how he wants. I personally just dont ever want to see any of YOU posting here how you got busted or crashed and need prayers or parts. Can you say SQUID.
I am not digging on you or him, Like you said "HE asked for our advice". Just like a little kid we gave it to him and you, but it is not what you wanted to hear. TUFF SHIOT. Grow up. Yes we race yes we try to do 200. AT THE TRACK. Ever hear of a safety crew, EMT's PARAMEDICES? Gonna have that at your little street race??????????????
OK, like you I am done with MY rant. Do what you will, just don't ask for advice and then whine about the advice you recieve.
Have a good race

I asked about compounded boost not a single kit. And yes gearing WILL help over stock gearing. Thats retarded to think that stock gearing would be better than a 16/43 or 16/44 setup. Their not racing to 200mph if you read the entire post then you'll see they race to around 150.

stock 99-07 busa was estimated to run 192 mph over multiple miles from a dig

16/44 gearing would reduce your top speed by 16% roughly (31 mph)

so you want to gear the bike for 160 for a 150 mph race? Hmmmmmm...sounds good in theory, bad in practice. To do a roll on at 60 mph and be in his powerband, he'd have to start in third and I doubt he'd be in his powerband even then. But with the gearing as stated on a stock bike he would be reducing his wheelbase thus making the bike more wheelie prone than it was thanks to your reduced gearing. At 60 in third he should throttle lift if he whacks it open at 60 with his shortened wheelbase.

I still vote, don't race. Very doubtful you will win. If you do...it will be a shallow victory and you will be plagued with more b/s.

I watched the video a few more times and the guy driving the Cobra knows how to drive. Hes only about 3/4 in it at launch and then goes wot. Thats why hes not breaking traction. It looks like hes only running 295 tires and their tall. So you need to get the jump on him or you probly wont have a chance. Im staring to question your talent by some of your questions like whether or not to remove the cans. And where to be shifting. I think you need to go hit the street and work on a few things before you race and if your still running stock gears you better go drop the cash and regear before you play. Good luck to ya and remember to wear your friggin gear.

I agree here. Change sprockets. WEAR ALL GEAR.

On the video the driver of the busa didn't look like she was trying very hard. Didn't even look tucked.

be careful..

Get over it and go touch up your painted toenails!

So your saying that by reducing his top speed to around 160 that hes going to lose. If I remember correct if hes the first one to 160 he wins. And as for the wheelies that just makes for a better win on video. Im not saying hes going to definately win but he has a much better chance with lower gearing. if they were going to see who could go faster in the top end then sure stock gears might do it. Id go to a taller than stock but whatever hes drag racing. Are you wanting to run him with just a stock busa or do you plan on trying to win?

I would say look at your skills and go for it. If you think you have the skills then do it, if you win, grats, if you lose, get better. With bikes it is mostly about skill. I know I would probably lose, but you said you can run a 9.75 stock, that is pretty damn good IMO. For most cars, it is hard to beat a stock busa, you just dont realise how fast these bikes are. I dont remember the name of it, but there was a vid of a busa racing around a track with million dollar exotics and beating them. I would put my money on the Busa with a good rider.

If I remember correctly I wasnt the one that painted them. And get over what???? Im just trying to help him out. The faster one is going to win Im just helping him have a better chance of being the faster one.

I wouldn't run a stock busa againist the car unless it was 1/4 mile, the bike was lowered and I had Ricky Gadson on the darn bike....that is how much of a chance I feel this bike has in a roll on with a car that is speculated to make between 800-1000rwhp.

I run 16/43 and I think my top speed is over 160. Not sure how much due to always backing down around 150ish but there seems to def. be more than 10 mph left over AND it's still pulling HARD.

I run a 16/44 setup but I dont know what my top is but I know I'm always out front of the cars. (well most of them. Hell ive had my ass handed to me before but the fact that im stock and he spent over 30,000 on his motor made me feel good that I was pretty close.

you should have over 160 mph capability if you have 16/43 gearing.....not much over..but over. Probably 164-165 in theory.

go do it for fun, get a video made and let us see the result! :beerchug:
who cares if a modified cobra beat a stock busa? lets have fun with it rather get personal and worries about each others egos.

here is a nice video:
