***Hoons***

The term Hoon in Australia is an IDIOT how has no respect for road rules does what he likes when he likes he is just a tool. We have a word that is like your "N" word that is "coon" it is used as a derogatory remark directed to our aboriginals much the same as your "N" word. We use the word HOON in a light hearted manner as well such as "I was just hooning around" (having some fun) or "you bloody hoon" ( to someone who did something stupid)

"...an IDIOT who has no respect for road rules, does what he likes, when he likes, he is just a tool"

"someone who did something stupid"

Yeah, that's something that I want to aspire to.

Having never done anything stupid,... and obeying all rules all the time because I think.......well.......all rules are just plain good, I agree with you.

Well at least you have goals Rich

Im a Hoon, Your a hoon, would'nt you like to be a hoon too? Cant we all just get a long? There are a small group of riders that found the term very funny, almost anti-hoon was this group. Yet, at the same time the whole of us had recently involved in Hoon activity. Since the term is used mainly amongst those that were involved, what is the issue.

There are some things that I may read in life that I may not like. Heck, for that fact the majority of laws up for vote currently I don't like reading. Very upsetting, so I just don't read more than I have to.

I call my best friend a Baaaaaaahhhhhh! and she doesn't care...

Just my 2 cents....we don't see enough lightheartedness around here. We need that back!!

I call my best friend a Baaaaaaahhhhhh! too.....she just laughs and calls me something back.

Why has this term become popular on the board ???

It is not a term of endearment...I find it offensive. Kind of
like using the "N" word. Maybe it's just me, but why would
you want to be associated with this word ???

Hoon - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

always good to look out for the "stereotypeing" and "name-calling" best way to handle this is call it out to everyone that it is percieved as "offensive" so we could let everyone know someone is offended...personaly i would never even use the word "squid" but in reality...it amounts to about the same. i do not see this racialy classifying so in my mind it dont fit in that catagory and thus it may not offend me or others as much.

Hey while we are on the subject of what bugs us....

What’s up with people giving the index finger when their friends are taking pictures of them?
I’m old but when I gave or received that sign it was not in love.
And what is with girls doing that??
WOW that was unheard of when we were flashing the bird.
What am I missing??
