Hopefully a different spin on the gsxr 1000 vs Hayabusa question

i would say the busa will be the better choice, i have a cbr600rr that is extremely fun to play with on a twisty road but it doesnt ride like the busa. the busa will make short trips long trips and anything in between. if i could only have 1 the busa would be it. :beerchug:

The Busa has a great aftermarket, many supporters, etc... I can have an issue and some one on here will reply quickly with an answer. I was just talking to a Mustang friend about the great guys that I have met since owning one. It is a tight group like what he have with our Mustangs! I normally run at the drag strip and stick to less street riding until last week. I changed out the M/T Shootout tire for a Shinko Raven, raised the bike up, re-mapped, and thirty minutes later I am off on a 400 mile road trip. I was sore of course since I am not use to it but on a 10000? No way...........Get the Busa! I am considering a 1000 only because I want to ride my Busa more and build a track only bike. Also, at my skill level and wallot depth lol, a 1000 is 110lbs liter and will run what I do now or faster.

I got both and for me they both are fine for riding to and from work or even long rides. The 02 1k I have is much more fun and easier to ride around town. The busa is nicer on the highway. Go sit on both back to back and go from there. They are both great machines!!!

For me between the two I'd pick the Busa, I think when I get it paid off I'm gong to look for a used 1K, just to have something to play with.

Hi, GregBob here on Tuf's computer.

As one of those "I have both" people, there is one major problem with any sportbike: I think they are really boring to ride on the street unless you are travelling at felony speeds. As my speeding tickets began to pile up, I turned to the track for speed. The gsxr requires way less physical effort and gets around a lot faster, but the busa is still really fun.

For fun on the street, it's GOLDWING all the way. I can U turn my wing in the WIDTH of two parking stalls (ie 14'ish feet) at about 1 mph. It handles great, huge comfort, tubine smooth engine with good power, storage space for groceries or trips, wind protection for comfy riding on cold days, and it is still a challenge on the street at reasonable speeds. And parking lot drills (dragging engine guards) are a blast and will attract people who share the obsession.

Also perfect for two up; my ex used to actually fall asleep. It also has an intercom, stereo, and, and, and. Cupholder is optional.

Plus, Wing people are the nicest in the world.

What the pic doesn't show is that the bike is not actually moving. But is in fact laying on the ground. Lots of body movement and positioning to pull off the animiated shot though. I love my Wing brothern. :poke:

Just kiddin about not moving.

I have a 8 mile trip to work and enjoy being on the busa. Comfy ride, power when I need it and whatever else I throw at her. And I know at any point if I go an a long distance ride, I don't have to worry. When I first got her, I was like wow there is some weight here, but now it's no biggie. I would guess either would be fun, but my opinion would be the busa as it is more versitile.

IMO, the Busa is a much nice ride. The 1000 is nice but is your "typical crotch rocket" feel whereas the Busa just has a more relaxed feel driving with a lot more torque.

I ride both and I have to say that the 1000 is quicker on turns, lighter. Hayabusa is better for straights and higher speeds. Heavier.
Although I enjoy them both, I favor the Busa. More power, smoother ride, better looking.
It all comes down to preference and what you want to ride.

Your asking everyone who picked the busa what they would choose?
:cheerleader:
The busa was my choice as it gave me the comfort I was looking for with sport bike looks and performance... well that and the busa brotherhood has serious mojo!

Hmm, maybe I should check more prices then for both, but I am hoping to spend less than $8,000 on the bike, and then I can pay for the insurance in advance and not worry about it for a year.

That's a lot of money when you're talking about used bikes. You can find a much newer busa than an 03 for 8000. I got my 06 in Sep. of 07 and paid 9 for it. I'm sure you could probably find an 06 now for 8. Maybe even an 07 since we're in the second year of the genII (and they have much better colors this year:laugh:).
