How about a Ghetto report...

Got the ghetto stage 2 with intercooler....  I am kind of wishing I did the water injection instead of the intercooler for flexiblity reasons... There is NO way you can lower an bike intercooled like you can without one... I have done the dual fans to pull the radiator back more and shaved the fender, and its still not ridable with about 3/4"-1" drop...

I will give you the full scoop when I actually get it out of the parking lot, but for know that is far as I could get it... hahahahah

Sounds good though!

Cloud
Hey if it's that much of a prob for ya Cloud i'll trade ya my VR2 kit when i get it working for your Intercooler Ghetto i only plan to tour and ride my bike no drag plans for it so i need not worry about clearance the more the merrier for me :-D

yeah I had the opportunity to go with an innercooler and I didn't because of that lowering sake. I run at the strip atleast once a month if not more and needed to be able to drop the bike. I went with water and i'm happy with it so far.

Have you been often enough to get us a performance report???

Shoot.... raking the bike.... please...

THere is no way you are going to pull that front wheel in any more then it already is...

I didn't get my setup for the quarter anyway to be honest... I was building mine for top speed and needed the intercooler for the top speed runs... Could have went water, but it sounded better being I didnt' have to refill it... I am not regretting it yet though, let me get it out there and see how it goes and then I will give you my final report.

THe intercooler really was a pain in the ass...

1. Had to re-weld inlet on radiator to back.
2. did dual fan mod.
3. Plastics really don't fit well with the intercooler... It was stretching it to try to get them to come together at the bottom...
4. I had the first intercooler setup that motorhead had made, so I got a plenum that wasn't done right... Had to have the BOV inlet rewelded at a different angle because the tank wouldn't close....

I am getting there though... hope its worth it...

And I answered your question. Go get your own turbo and see for yourself.
Don't expect anymore attention from me.
Mad`
Geez, apparently he doesnt know you've had a turbo bike for sometime now.Sounds like not a very nice guy either, comments like that and he'll get flamed to no end.

My bad I thought the rake move the front end out...So it's opposite???

No stunnah, its out not in.He's just misinformed, remember reading years ago about choppers with raked front ends, there you go.
Yeah that's what I thought...I remember several Busa owners having discussed having the bike raked to give more room up front and to help lower the bike...

No ghetto kit here.... but I do have quite the collection of zip-ties holding everything together... that part is pretty "ghetto"

I'm right there with ya. Did the radiator, the fans, trimmed the inner fairings to fit around the intercooler. Then a little trimming for the dump pipe, a little more for the air filter (yeah, it does fit inside, just a little tight), a little more for the wastegate. There is alot of tweaking during the install process, but eventually, you get it all right, and then you get your arms lengthened. I'm running the DBB turbo (GT30). It's a little large for the setup I'm running. The specs for that turbo and the wheels that are in it and the compressor show that it really doesn't hit it's sweet spot until around 12# boost and up. 12# is my high boost setting with a spacer and pump fuel. It hit 19# on the dyno by accident before we chopped the throttle when we were setting the second stage. Lot's of extra there should I decide to go to the next level. I had the same problem with the BOV. Had to swap out the plenum for one that angles it down. Dennis had one made that changed the angle of the 5th injector so that the fitting doesn't point the hose straight down the throttle cables. The motorhead has been good with tips and info.

An associate here just got a Ghetto kit installed on his bike...He's got much more...Built motor and some more...Got to the track late Sunday nite and didn't get to see him run...He should be back this coming Sunday and maybe we will hook up...I'll try and ask him everything I can...

can u run a stage 1 or stage 2 with just a dump pipe..or does it need the full exhaust. i like the no exhaust look
