How is everyone enjoying their Gen 3?

About 7-8 months with mine now, owned lots of Suzuki’s over the years, since 81. Suzuki should be embarrassed with this transmission, my 16 yr old B-King shifts way smoother without using the clutch, all of the Suzuki’s I’ve owned have.
Rides nice, very stable in the corners, beautiful. Sadly doesn’t hide its weight well, also puts out a fair amount of heat on my rt leg.
Quite a reach to the bars, even with the Helibar riser, and I’m 6’1”. Needs a tighter turning radius for garage maneuvers.
Overall pleased with the ride, but not totally in love with it like I am with my B-King, Multistrada, and RSV4. Maybe it will grow more on me? Who knows.

2 years and 6 months and still loving it. I would think a 16 year old transmission would shift smoother than one that is 7-8 months old. My Hayabusa transmission shifts smoother than my 6 month old ZX14.

My Hayabusa goes from neutral to 1st like a luxury car and my ZX14 goes in gear like a Mack truck.

I haven't had too much trouble with the trans, I also switch the oem shifter with a woolich and love it. I think for the weight aspect she is heavy but can definitely move though. I honestly like the gen 3 more than my gen2. My buddy has a multistrada and that thing is awesome, but it is a total adventure bike. I think it will grow on you more, it did for me.

I love mine; how do you like your zx14, I have been thinking about getting one or a h2.

For the grudge riders, how are these gen 3s stacking up against the competition?

I know the gen 2s were floundering in that dept....even EJR Performances' Megatron was getting flounced here and there by really fast liter bikes...

Has anyone run against a gen 1 or 2 on their gen 3 and if so, how did it go?

I wear full gear each and every time I swing my leg over the 'ol pig....

I get a good farmer's tan on my garden tractor though as I definitely spend more time on it than my bike these days.
You and me both !!!!!

I had an encounter with a deer back in October 2020 and my riding jacket protected my elbow from being broken and all I ended up with was a dime size spot of road rash on my arm but without the jacket I'm sure my elbow/arm would have been broken and I'd have a lot more road rash on my forearm. I did break my leg but I don't believe any riding gear would have prevented that but had I been wearing boots with better ankle protection I don't think I would have dislocated my ankle. No amount of riding gear protects you 100% from injury but if sure does help mitigate injuries.

+1
Second deer I hit was a couple years ago, at 83mph, head on into her side, destroyed the front and sides of the Gsxr1k, but I stayed up(Thank You God)
The deer then flipped up and straight into my right upper body, and smacked my lower leg into the passenger peg, and my foot against the tire.
Full leathers, and only some aches from the impact, but had I not been wearing any gear, I'm quite confident that my calf would have gotten a nice gash and been a good bleeder.
To each their own, but full gear for me all the time, as too much is beyond our control, regardless of our experience or ability.

So far I'm happy with my 2023 Hayabusa and it performs beyond my riding capabilities and fits my riding style. The bike handles well for the roads I ride on which consists of a few sharp turns but mostly long sweepers where the bike excels and I absolutely love the pulling power which is what enticed me to buy the bike in the first place. I way prefer torque over HP since torque is more important to me in the rpm range where I spend most of my time riding. I'm pleased with the electronics especially cruise control, quick shifter is adequate and works well for me, the bike looks good, price was right so a win, win for me. Don't like the seat, I need to install bar risers and I wish I could get a wind screen that would provide a quieter pocket of air around my helmet. Don't like the one year warranty which is really a 6 month or less warranty depending on where you live and weather conditions. My BMW came with 3 years and 36000 miles so Suzuki ought to do a little better than one year especially on a bike priced near 20 grand.

Still loving the bike, although I am still getting used to a quick shiftier and sometimes I get a neutral shift rather than a 1-2...............But I put that down to me getting lazy and not pulling hard all the way through the shift. I generally shift 1-2 with the clutch to avoid this and the rest without. Down shifts are always done with the clutch out of habit I guess. Besides, nothing beats a proper downshift and throttle blip. Over all I love riding the torque curve when you are just cruising, and knowing that any second you can downshift and disappear. I have noticed not many want to race you on these bikes though, just a nod or respect.

Love my ZX14 too, it’s a 2023, it’s got a better seat than the Hayabusa but hate the fact it doesn’t have cruise control. Unless you’re hooked on a ZX14 like I am, I would go with the H2, it’s so much more up to date. I’m waiting to see what colors they come out with in 2025 and may buy one but still keeping my Hayabusa and ZX14.

I ran the 3 against one of my Gen 2’s and it got shat on.

I love mine so much it got sold and don’t regret it one bit. Back to basics for me with a Gen 2

And how old are you? Just kidding Bee! …. I don’t know how the gen 3 compares to other gens but my nephew motioned me up beside him on his ZX9R for a roll on, it was no comparison! He didn’t come by me till I pulled the clutch in and went to idle and I short shifted every gear. And yes the QS worked flawless.

Love that color scheme!

My Multistrada is a full on sport bike, crazy how well that thing handles

I love my busa but here is my list of minor gripes:
  1. Speedometer. It's beautiful but all the legal speeds are crammed into the lower left corner. It is low key unreadable. This connects into gripe 2.
  2. The LCD is not showing much useful information. It is big, beautiful and 80% of the screen are displaying "SDMS" and the drive mode. Fun for the first 5 minutes then useless for all the years I am going to own the bike. I can only configure the small field for trip meters at the bottom 20%. My 2010 VW can be configured by me on the fly to show different things. What I use most is to display my current speed in big numbers. Why can't a 2022 Suzuki do this?
  3. Cruise control has a 1980's vibe since it is not dynamic. BMW can do this, my fourteen year old VW can do this, why not you Suzuki.

Ironic as when I first got the Bumblebee I had a guy on a ZX9R come up on me then accelerate when he got beside me so I popped in behind him and kept up to him pretty easily and could have passed at any time....we came to a set of lights and he asked what that thing was as it's fast..

I told him and he nodded but didn't try to out accelerate me the rest of the way.

Glad to hear it. I put some helibars on and I definitely recommend them. I do want to get a different seat though, but I did an 8hr trip and it wasn't that bad lol. Man, I live by the Shoei RF-1400. It's quiet and one of the best helmets for protection. I did have an issue with the one-year warranty. but overall, I love it.

Did you install the Helibars yourself? How long did it take you? I have been looking for another helmet but just because my current helmet is going on 6 years old so probably getting close to retiring it.

I don’t mean to answer for Busa3 but the Helibars are easy but a little difficult only because the factory bolts go in from underneath and are tight all the way out due to the factory loctite. Removing the windscreen will make it all easier to get to, and I used 5 towels to protect my paint and cover the end of the Allen wrench with the palm of your hand in case it slips off the bolt. Or wrap tape on the end of the Allen wrench. Check your master cylinder angles before you turn the bars all the way to make sure they don’t hit the windscreen. Good luck!
