How Many 08 Owers Use Mode Selector

How many of of the 08 owners regularly use the new mode selector switch? do you feel it was a great new feature or could you have done without it cause you never use it?

I only use it when it rains.. And since I don't ride in the rain much, I guess I don't use it that much....

I do -due to a loose gravel driveway that turns to sand then to limerock prior to hitting an compacted asphalt product thats now loosening up. All this drama prior to getting to a decent road 1 mile away. And I used it when the road was somewhat wet/damp. Once I hit a good road I pull in the clutch and go right to A.

I tried it and didnt like it, Mode A is for me. Maybe if I get caught it rain.

Does Mode C get better MPG then A?

I used it riding home in a snow storm but that was it, it seems like a good idea to have but not use much.

Dear tinmann

I use Mode C all of the time because that's what my dealer told me to do for the first 600 miles. I haven't tried any of the other modes.

I'm still getting the bike broken in, and I have a long way to go, as there are just about 350 miles on her.

I can't wait until I can use Mode A.

I'm using mode "c" because I just got the bike and want to learn it some with a little less worry about twisting the grip too hard at the wrong time. I would imagine that after I have a few miles on the bike I would probably only use it in bad weather.

I never used it on my 07 GSX-R1000 and now I'll never use it on my 08 Busa. I've also read in a few mags taht they think its pretty much useless. I think Suzuki will get rid of it in a few years. Kinda gimmicky imo.

Huh?, You are kidding right?  Man that sounds like bullcrap...Only mode C? Never heard anything like that. Read your owners manual.

Dear valkyriemc

No, I'm not kidding.

The manual doesn't say I have to keep it in Mode C, just that I have to keep the engine below 5500 rpm for the first 500 miles and under 8000 rpm for the second 500 miles.

I don't mind sticking with Mode C for now. I'm actually a little afraid of the 'Busa's power.

Is it possible to wheelie in Mode C while keeping the engine speed under 5500 rpm? I've been trying and have been unable to do it. Maybe I can lift the front wheel when I cross the 500-mile mark and catch rev her on up to 8000 rpm.

No need to run anything but A-mode.  IMO the selector switch is a joke.  Now if they could get it to work with different PC programming for additional tunes then it will be worth something.  Until then, it's tits on a BULL...

Jaddie, from the sound of things I would be looking for a different dealer.  What they told you is laughable.  As far as your wheelie comments, maybe you should just keep it in C-mode...

Surely that will do damage rather than good? Larger loadings/throttle openings etc....

Hell man get it in A. Check youve still got some balls!

i just want to know if theres a mpg difference cause if i was just cruising it would be nice to just get better gas on a longer highwayish commute

So what are the different modes? I gather A is for aggressive driving, B is for moderate driving, and C is for granny? Does the new Busa have the mpg meter like the older models? I really liked that on my 02. I would get 50mpg on the highway all the time with it. I'm really getting excited about getting the new one. Just a month and a half away! (waiting to pay off an existing loan before getting the new Busa)

QFT

Interms of different tunes, you could get a Dynojet Multifunction HUB which will allow you to switch between 2 tunes and do a whole lot more. I recently got one myself... it's a pretty cool device when you combine it with the ignition module and pc3usb (must have this for it to work).

Is there anything but A Mode? The guy at the dealer that give me the run down of the bike when I bought it put the bike in mode C. Told me the tires were slick and to keep it there for the first few miles! As I left I switched back to A, hit the road and done a wonderful smokey burnout for him through second gear!!! Wish I could have seen his face! The next time I was in there he just looked at me and shook his head!!!
