uhh this thread makes you out to be a cocky douche bag, instead of bragging about yourself you should write the good lord above and thank him for saving your arse, maybe if your such a great rider you should try out for moto gp

I took it as tonque and cheek -partly. But really the issue is stopping fast, real fast. After administering first aid to a sudden high side get off superman style, I now practice stopping hard and tell anybody that is willing to listen to make sure you can do a panic stop. Period. Practice it tell its right and use that front brake.

You should have been looking up the entire time. If you had been this could have easily been avoided. You said you there weren't any cars in front of you then you looked up! Were you checking your fly or what? Maybe not what you wanted to hear but its the truth.

Great save!

I agree it is a miracle.

However, when you cool down, take this whole affair as a hint from above.

1. Always scan ahead, even a 2 sec lapse can create problems.
2. Stop using you rear brake when you need to slow down the bike, and like someone said practice emergency braking with the FRONT only, and I would add - practice it at least once or twice on every ride.

Great save never the less! Good for you for not panicking.

The rear wheel was off the ground when it swung out. I was stopping so hard i should have flipped over the front of the bike so i was spot on like a monster with the braking/control thing. I was all like at 99.9999999999999% with the braking performance.

I had a similar situation once. Quick thinking and good bike control saved you. I always critique myself after, thinking about what I could have done to avoid it in the first place. Live, learn and keep the shiny side up

Im a "casual weekend racer" also.
Weekend racer?

What organization to you participate with for your weekend racing.  What group level to do you ride in.

I'm interested into getting into racing and want to learn more.  Where are the tracks and what's the best one to go to?

Can you post more pictures of your race bike too, that's one sweet machine...
What mods have you done to it?

sounds like a great save

glad you're able to post about it. things can go south so quickly... a clear lane with traffic @ 70+ can disappear in a flash even without everyone trying to avoid a fresh accident. fortunately I haven't been as close as you were.
