I don't get it?

I agree with that...but, guns were also designed for hunting...and Defense.
As far as K.R not knowing the details about the people he shot...is a non-issue to me.
As one had a gun, another tried to beat him with a skateboard.
Again, K.R should Not have been there, but he repeatedly ran away yelling "friendly"...yet the continued to chase and try to attack him.
Under those circumstances...karma, dumbasses get shot and/or killed by chasing and trying to harm the guy with the gun...the same guy that gave them alot of chances to stop.
As for the car thing...more of the same, self-centered dumbasses wasting good air, as their Likes on fakebook are more important than the risk to your life or mine.

And
If you want to stand or march with signs to protest something, go ahead.
But burning and looting your city, and BLM destroying Alot of black business is total BS.
Open fire on that crowd.
Not sorry.
I'm not arguing with you as I definitely see the gray area in this case. But think about this: If you were in a situation like this and you saw a snotty-nosed kid like Kyle (who BTW fits the profile of 90% of the mass shooters) walking around you with an AR, what would you do? Quite probably try to disarm him. So what if one of the people shot had gotten the gun from Kyle and Kyle was shot in the process? Would that be self-defense?

Anyway as I see it the facts in this case (that we know of) don't support a conviction on the most serious charges IMO.

LOL, in my old country (South Africa) where I used to always carry in mid 90’s the gun laws have been screwed up so bad, most honest folks find it impossible to own a gun.

The law states:

You need a permit for each individual gun prior to purchase.

Under no circumstances will a permit be issued if the intent is for self defense.

You are allowed to carry the gun open or concealed in public, provided you have the permit available on request.

All common sense lost.

No open or concealed carry here in Canada, and a ban on over 1500 weapon platforms with the handgun firmly in the sights of the next ban...

It won't be too much longer when we will only have hunting style weapons available to us.

As it stands now, all weapons have to be locked up with trigger locks at all times other than cleaning, on an approved range or actively hunting. Trigger locks have to be on the weapons to and from the hunting area as well.

We have no second amendment here and it shows.

Differnce is though kyle was shown to use his gun in self defense were Grosskruetz used his as an aggressor.
I was referring to to bold text in the post. Both men knew that bringing a gun increased the chance of trouble so neither one is without blame. It's interesting that you mention Rittenhouse by first name and Gosskruetz otherwise. The effect of affection in our judgements is beyond deniability.

This trial will set a precedence for other cases in the future, I think they want to get it right.

There are good arguments on both sides, the outcome will be interesting.

I think during a 'normal' day, seeing anyone moving about with a gun in hand, is time to stop and assess the situation.
Keeping in mind that I am no hero, do not want caught up in any drama...but am not about to watch you or your family and friends, or my own be shot up by some psyhco.
I would have to do something.
What? Stop it by whatever means I could.
Being this is hypothetical, and I hope Never happens, what that may be is anyone's guess.
The Riots, they are another story.
Do I agree with Peaceful Protest?
Absoloutely.
Do I agree with the bad situations that started the riots? Not at all, the anger is justifiable, just not the reactions, all they have done is cause further harm.
There are 'professional' rioters there too, as their faces are seen in multiple cities.
People to continue stirring the pot, with hopes to further divide us.
What's my point? No way would you catch me willingly in the middle of that mess.
Had I unfortunately been there, I would be looking everywhere.
Had I seen K.R with his gun, I would have kept eyes on him.
Had I heard him yell 'friendly' and watched him run from people even while being armed, his threat level to me would have dropped dramatically.
But, again, had I been there, it would have been against my will, and my goal would be to get out asap, while helping anyone in need on my way out.
Should K.R have been there?
Again, No, and for alot of reasons, but what the video shows me is self-defense.

Don’t feel alone, I believe the US is pretty much the last civilized country left in the world, where gun ownership and use is pretty open.

I believe you are correct....the "wild. wild west" is alive and well there.

Gun ownership was never a real big thing here and although I grew up with guns, and have always owned guns, I don't stress over the ban....

I hope the government has a buy back policy and we can get at least something for our prohibited guns....I would get something shiny for the Bumblebee then...

Yet almost all gun related crimes are done with handguns lol.

Lol you are thinking to deep into that, I personally have nothing invested in either party nor do I care about the outcome (not american) I just like common ground. Both parties were wrong, but one party was more wrong (and stupid... who runs up and attacks someone running away with a long rifle lol).

I care more about politicians being held accountable for the riots and should be criminally charged.

Body language tells you what a person is gonna do 9 times outta 10 before they even think consciously about doing it..... Seeing a kid or an adult walking the streets of a hot zone (protest/riots) with a rifle slung would definitely catch my eye. Although it wouldn’t alarm me right off the bat. If he’s exhibiting anxious high anxiety type behavior I’m looking for cover and exit from him. If he’s running away from my direction I’m going to mind my got damn business!!! If authorities ask me which way he went I’ll gladly point them in his direction. That’s the extent of my civil responsibility to the community.

You gotta be a special kind of STOOPID to chase after and attack a person carrying a firearm. Don’t wanna hear about age, race, shouldn’t have been there, state line this, white supremacy that. None of that matters.....

YOU DON’T RUN AFTER PEOPLE WITH GUNS!!!!

A Wisconsin jury has acquitted Kyle Rittenhouse on all charges in his homicide trial.

The 18-year-old fell to the ground after hearing the verdict.

"The jury, which represented our community in this trial, has spoken," lead prosecutor Thomas Binger said.

Earlier this week, Binger said the state would not comment after the verdict.

Rittenhouse pleaded not guilty to two felony counts of first-degree recklessly endangering safety, first-degree reckless homicide and first-degree intentional homicide and attempted first-degree intentional homicide, claiming he shot three men, two fatally, in self-defense during a 2020 protest.

A charge of violating a curfew that was imposed during the protests in Kenosha was dropped during the trial.
