It's a bit weird thinking about it now, but I was pretty intimidated when I picked it up from the dealership - 6 months of waiting + hearing about how insanely powerful it was had me half-expecting the bike to just lurch down the street at break-neck speed before I could react. That idea dissolved about 100 ft. down the street when I realized how damn SMOOTH this bike is - it confidently eases into acceleration as fast as you want to take it. I've also come to realize that this thing is PLANTED to the road, regardless if you're doing 40 or 140 - if it weren't for air friction letting you now how fast you're going (and that fast approaching curve), the bike doesn't feel any less comfortable at warp speed. For all the talk about how the Busa is so fast, I don't think I've felt more confident on a bike, regardless of speed. Maybe that's a dangerous thing, but I actually trust this thing.

Aside from speed, I'm equally amazed at how balanced this bike is at very low speed. It almost feels like you don't have to put your foot down at stops

My sentiments EXACTLY!!

All the "talk" about how scary and evil this thing was, and I finally get the nerve to get on one (and that took some serious psyching myself up for) and I find a willing but cooperative teddy bear!

Glad you are enjoying it! I really wanted the LE, but alas...no more to be found around here apparently. But I am loving my Blue and silver.

HAVE FUN AND ENJOY!!!!!!!!!!!
