I think evaluating the merits of defunding the Police is a bit more cerebral than saying BLM don't you think? But now that you mentioned it Colin looks like a genius. He took a knee, started a relatively peaceful revolution, beat the NFL for $50 mil and doesn't have to get his brain scrambled from years of hits. Oh and millions in endorsements. And Pete said I'm sorry. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!

A statue toppling results in a protestor getting his head busted. He is in critical condition and in a comma. The cops were there and told to allow it to happen. In a separate incident, a cop who draws his gun and doesn't shoot is clobbered with a rock and then shot in the head and chest with his own pistol. Now he's dead. The guy who took the pistol used it to shoot at other officers who persued him. A little old lady sitting in her house was killed by a stray bullet. Lots of cops quitting, calling in sick and not responding to calls while on duty. We need the blockwatch.

I haven't owned a TV for 10 years and when I did, i rarely watched anything on it. All three stories I mentioned have been reported by a number of outlets.
The story about the cop shot with his own gun was from two years ago. Thanks for prompting me to look closer.

I wonder that if slavery had never been a thing in the USA, if the USA would have much of a black population at all today.
Could it be that slavery, and then the freeing of the slaves set the descendants of a lot of displaced Africans up for a better life as Americans than if they'd never been taken from Africa? I mean, could protests like these exist in a country like Congo, Nigeria or Somalia where your life is valueless to the dictatorship government and no one would blink seeing you gunned down in the street? Life isn't very pleasant in much of Africa, after all.
Just talking out of my arse, not meaning to offend, etc.
I watch a lot of "alternate history" videos on YouTube and many interesting theories like this are discussed. Food for thought kind of stuff.
As a Canadian watching from the sidelines, I think that every American has much to be thankful for and despite some of the issues that are being brought to light, life could be considerably worse in many, many other places. Lemons, lemonade. Or something.

. I think I understand your questions, you never said it was better to be a slave, but asked how many blacks would be in the U..SA., had there been no slavery. Did the act of bringing slaves set their generation’s on the path of a better life than they would have in the places they were kidnapped from. We will never know, but judging from the riots we would have a lot more Somalia pirates. Many people are not reacting to what was really said, but to what they think they hear, not always the same.

Of course I only added that it happened two years ago after someone questioned the authenticity of the story. I was one of the readers who thought it just happened. I posted the new info and thanked you for prompting me to look closer at the articles that reported the incident. Again, thanks.
Can we tell the police who have quit recently they are no longer in danger on the job because that cop getting shot with his own gun happened two years ago?

No I don't think so. I don't believe the George Soros stories. I hope I'm not wrong on that. Sooner or later the liberal governors are going to get fed up with their cities being destroyed. We're still far away from the destruction caused by a hurricane if that's any comfort. There's a lot of destruction to our social fabric that will take a long time to repair.

I appreciate you seeing what I was speculating on despite my less-than-stellar explanation. It was merely a "what if" and certainly not justification for anything brutal and/or evil that has happened to anyone in the past.
