I'm torn between 2 options.

Well I thought I'd dig up my old thread. I've obviously decided to keep it so I've went through it this winter and did alot of TLC

I did all the basic maintenance stuff, new spark plugs, air filter, it's second oil change since I had it, new brake pads and engine ice with new thermostat and rad cap, new battery, inspected and greased wheel bearings. I ordered fork seals just incase mine ever start to leak.

For upgrades I did carptener clutch mod.

I went with the APE slave cylinder support though the fitment was garbage and I should of just bought the billet cover.

I have new brake lines on order but who knows how long they will be.

I got a full yosh exhaust from busakiller for a good price! I exhaust wrapped the header.

Did a pair delete.

Replace the middle two velocity stacks to shorties.

Got new sprockets and chains 16 in the front 42 in the back.

Lowered it about a inch all around.

Frame sliders.

I actually hand painted the bike my self for this season I will probably order new plastics this winter.

Brand new tires all around michellen pilot powers 2ct's (hope they are decent).

I think that's all? I'm sure I'm missing some.

Well time to dig up my old thread. I decided on keeping the bike and I’m pretty deep into it now and keeping it unless I die on it hahahaha

Mods of now plus the the parts I swapped the first season I had
Rcc turbo kit stage one from a member with some freshened up parts.
Red Cush drive
Went back to stock gearing so new sprockets and chain again
Ape slave support
Clutch mod and heavier springs
Core motorbike lines
New rear bike master rear disk and pads
Adjustable lowering links and triple tree
Shinko drag tire
Gen 2 dual fan rad from a member with engine ice
Pc5 from a member
Gear indicator from a member
Fork seals and oil
Injector cleaning and servicing
Low profile breather
(Bunch of random things lever pegs etc)

I have a list in things I still need
AFR gauge and data logger
Boosted by smith shift light and ecu programming plug ins
Penske drag shock (may be next year purchase have Reno’s to do)
DME swing arm (may be next years purchase have Reno’s to do)
I have a spare engine for rebuild for more boost but will be a later project (need to do more reading and research)
New fairings and paint

Things I’m on the fence
Lowering strap and delete 1 front rotor and caliper
Slider clutch (would like to see how much I can squeeze out of the stock clutch)

I’m am 100% new to boosting anything or drag racing bikes. So any suggestions or tips is greatly appreciated. This will be a street/strip bike for atleast the next 2 years and then after that it might be 100% strip.

Hi. Give me a call and I will tell you what I did with my motor build.

So here is my pickle, I picked up my 05 busa this year for a great price. But I've dropped a fair bit of money on it already to get it up to safe operating conditions. But this winter is do or die. I either start ripping everything apart and start making it into a new/old bike or do I just go out and get a brand new bike and keep this as a weekend warrior bike? The worst part of the busa is the jackass that owned it before fudged every single plastic and dented the tank (I hate riding on something scratched and damaged like that), it also didnt have a single maintenance item done but thank god for such the low km's on it. we all deal with the fix it up or go for the perfect new,,,,,,,there is something special about a new bike:beerchug:
