InfiniteReality's Gen3 Build

Did I miss the post why you’re starting with heel guards? Or is it just an easy first project?

I don't think I stated, but it was a win-win-win for heel guards Easy to remove, fit on the turntable for the scanner and something I can learn how to do this stuff. I also always had planned to skin them at some point, figured if I can print some and skin those I won't have to donate my stock ones....motivation to start learning.

End of last week I randomly came across a pair of take off heel guards for $20 shipped so jumped on them to skin for now.

I went into this thinking I'd have more pics to share but the weather went from sun to crap quickly. All happened while I was filling in the Suzuki lettering in and getting it ready for some carbon skinning. I put it off till tomorrow with this now 100% humidity

Not perfect, but good enough for heel guards.

I got some night seat time last night. I did not realize how horrible the alignment was after everything I did. I knew it needed to be raised when stock but now on high beam, the base of the cut off starts only 25-30ft in front of me. As you'd expect the low beam only goes out that far. I thought I had to remove the cover to adjust but after the fact I realized there's an access hole on the Gen3. Since my cover was off, snapped some pics.

Clockwise is up, counter is down.

Nothing to report other than I've been finally fortunate to ride all this week to work, as well as run a few errands. Slowly getting miles in, 2300 total so far with 800 of them being after the bike was done. Going to see if I can double that before 2023.

Been tinkering with 3D prints and epoxy lately, seems to work very well when tested on my daughter's sign. Since I have all generation lettering and kanji's already drawn in CAD, randomly had the idea to combine them and print something to hang on the wall in the shop. I modeled like a puzzle so everything just slides together and can print multiple colors. When done, I'll fill the inside with clear epoxy. May do the color of the letters/kanji in the OEM colors of the bike I owned of each year.

Test fit. They're ugly, but do mount up with no interference. Try to do a few tweaks and then can attempt to make it look less blocky

if i sent u a clutch cover..... could u 3d scan it and duplicate it out of carbon fiber for 1000 bucks? do u do any CF work? doesnt have to have any emblems or anything detailed on it.... just hold oil and be light.

Not yet, but at some point I want to get to that point where I can confidently take a part and replicate it in full carbon. Modeling some guards are my first dip into something like that.

Got the call parts were ready, but didn't have much time so pushed it off till tomorrow and I get tire flipped around.

Thanks to @Spudley for the gen 1 rear rotor suggestion, turns out it's match. In hindsight, the obvious clue it was a gen 1 is the logo itself. $30 and no more cheesy and shiny!

Installed this and doesn't get any easier. Don't need to program as it learns itself. But you do have option to customize.

Cleaned up muffler. Haven't tried polish on anything yet.

I have a question Gen1 rear brake disc has the same bolt pattern as the Gen3 wheel?

Hadn't posted in a while, least on my thread. Nothing really new to report. Ride it when I can, got to go to inside SEMA last week as well as meeting up with @Spudley for breakfast. We'll do it again next year Adam!

I've been working on the little CRF50. I'm not entirely sure how it started, but realizing it's been a decade since I did anything to it, it took off. Wide wheels/tires from Japan, skinned plastics in urban camo carbon fiber, list goes on. I designed some emblems for it and was fixing to get them resin printed when it remembered I planned to do the same on the Hayabusa. So before placing my order, did a quick model of the lettering (same size as my decals currently on the bike) and sent them off to print as well. I plan to paint them same Pepperdust as my trim.

Not entirely sure if an actual emblem on the side fairing will look awkward on sport bike, typically they get only decals. Guess I'll find out shortly.

For reference, they're 8.5" long, 0.05" tall
