After looking at these emblems on the bike for a week, just not digging them. They simply don't look right, decals will go back on soon.

Feb 4th the bike turned a year old, only 2500 miles on the clock. Not the 5k I hoped, but not horrible. Bike should only be ridden this year, not worked on, hope to get the miles up. Took it out for a spin Sunday while I had 70deg weather, sun was out and long over due for a little ride.

Over the past 3 months or so, this is the latest bike build I've been working on. In many, many ways it was considerably more involved and "custom" than the busa, but man I loved the project and the idea has been floating around in my head for the past decade so it was good to see it come to life finally. Full mix of Honda CRF50 and Z50 parts, so aptly named the CRF50Z. Like this thread, it's wordy.....but has plenty of pictures.

Hit up MM about reflashing my tune to make it less twitchy at low speeds and read couple others feel similar. Got an easy answer, haven't tried yet.

So less hp at lower rpms, vs a better tune...and That is his answer?
Not impressed.
The manual says that mode A is for sporty/performance riding and mode B is for general riding. I think it just limits throttle opening speed below like 6000rpm and then the curves are the same above

Yes, but you mean to tell me that the throttle response can't be changed from switch-like to smooth in A mode?
I'm not buying that, at all.

I assumed this was just the easy way, if I wanted Mode A to operate similar I'd assume he'd be willing. I did tell him I expect to pay for a reflash, but if I'm content with just switching modes I'll rock that.

I think it comes down to that they are just drag racers and roll racers, and are only going to cater to that audience.
Which is disapointing for anyone who street rides and turns left and right.
I have said before that they tuned the '18 gsxr1k I ride, and it is excellent.
However, it is pretty abrupt on/off the throttle.
That Can be tuned out tune too, by simply not cutting the injectors off immediately, and letting them taper off slower instead.
I had the same issue fixed on my Concours, and it was a night and day improvement.
Sadly, anymore, the majority of the aftermarket is aimed soley at peak hp.

Idk, I’m sure it could but isn’t this exactly the point of the electronic suites that are put on these bikes in the first place? I don’t mind having one that is no compromise performance/aggression and being able to on the fly switch to a map designed to cruise and still makes the same power once the bike is rolling. I used the power modes before the flash even so I may be a little biased. I wish I could do something like this in my Z06 even beyond just turning the boost knob up or down.

No, I want full power, throughout the full rev range from off idle and up, A mode, all the time.
If the flash makes the off idle power switch like on the gen3, as is noticeable on the MM flash and dyno tune on the last gen gsxr1k, then it should be improved, as it can be.
Again, the market is too geared towards racing to focus on that.

I wouldn't like that "choppy" throttle either regardless of what mode I was running in......kind of sad that only a tune will correct this but not surprising either.

Reminds me of my Ram truck and the throttle hesitation it had....it was almost dangerous when it came to making a left turn at an intersection....after a stand alone tune (ECU is locked and not able to be hacked into) and a Pedal Commander, I was able to resolved the throttle issue.

I understand that better now. I guess I’m just used to my vehicles being on off switched I welcome power mode 2 and the ease of changing it as I go.

I feel ya on that, I think I'll be happy with B mode and can easily switch to Mode A. BUT I definitely think they should fine tune the off idle throttle to be more stock-ish. Or at least offer the option of drag racer vs street tune, it seems like half the tunes they send out are likely for street bikes?
