InfiniteReality's Gen3 Build

Got my emblems back from resin printing last week, this will not be an fast project, lol. Have to be some what delicate with them, mainly due to the points of some letters (ridiculously sharp) not break them off too. Scuff them on all edges, semi-adhere them so they don't blow away when painting. Then comes the fun of cutting out the 468MP tape, likely the worse part other than I called in a favor to get the tape sheets laser cut with a 0.025" offset and hoping he can make it happen. Then of course, mask the spot where current decals are, remove and apply them. x2 bikes.

Actually I don't really like extended and lowered bikes but this one is an exception, the effort and work you put into that bike is amazing... congratulations  :super:

I appreciate it! Definitely some time put in on it, but I enjoy it as much (maybe more) than actually being on it. Funny part is over the past couple of months I probably have put more hours into the CRF50 than I did on the busa. Lots and lots of carbon fiber, unique carbon fiber at that little bike.

When I clear these emblems and some other fresh carbon parts for the CRF with satin, I will also clear my carbon heel guards for the busa as well.

Being as it's getting close to getting too cold to ride, already semi planning on next wheel color for the spring. I've worn Shocker Yellow out for myself between the busa and the CRF. Already concluded it won't be a bright/odd color for round 2.

To close out 2022, sharing my last 2 bike builds this year after my Gen3. I didn't put as many miles as I hoped this year, but I definitely wasn't loafing around the house being unproductive, lol. I had no intention of rebuilding my 50, but as I was looking at parts for my daughter's Christmas present, it kind of snowballed... before I knew it I was ordering parts for mine since I knew it would take a month or more to get wheels from Japan. I've had this rebuild in my head for better part of a decade, getting my daughter one was my motivation to do it.

Retrofitted a set of Z50 forks, triple, set Kitaco wide 8x3.5 wheels, Z50 hubs and brakes. Changed up ratio of satin black to shocker yellow powdercoat. Skinned a set of plastics in urban camo carbon fiber. I also skinned 2 sets of fork guards in regular carbon for mine and purple carbon for daughter's. Skinned the exhaust shield in "forged carbon". Everything carbon fiber is real, even the camo pattern. All hardware not related to suspension or similar, was changed out to black stainless like the Hayabusa. Again, goal was NO shiny parts. I need to finish the emblem for it, locate and apply.

Her 50 is a new one. I had no plan to buy new, but when Honda released 23 in white/pink it was compelling, lol. Nothing used around here worth asking prices. I stripped it down, drop all parts off to powdercoat, painted the engine, wheel hubs, training wheels, etc. Got it all back together the afternoon right before the hard freeze, was close but was thankfully done. I watched the temps drop 20deg in 2hrs, was 44 inside my shop when I was walking out.

Test fit old helmet on 3D printed helmet hook. Was skinning something else in chopped carbon so did the hook for kicks. Pictures don't do it justice like the twill carbon, something that needs to be seen in person to really appreciate the detail.

Blue nose trim came in. Need to make some braces, scuff and paint black to get prepped for trial skinning of it.

ATC rear caliper showed up and now have everything in had for the wheel/arm kit. Just waiting on the Ti header to get started. Also added pic of the chain that comes in the kit for my reference since I need to find a black replacement and sell this chrome one.

Hi to remove that blue nose trim you had to remove the whole nose fairing or it can be removed from the bottom?

Let me know how you make out with Motocomposites, I’m thinking of going that route myself. A member here already has and his bike looks super nice. He also complained about the nose piece installation

I have their front fender and it went on without issue. Fit is great and the piece needed minimal adjustment/tweaking to be straight and solid and that really was just putting the 6 fender bolts in and holding the fender as they all got tightened down, I’d imagine it would have been the same with a stock piece.

I’ve seen people post how they left the nose on the bike and switched it out, when I did mine I pulled the nose off swapped the colors and put it back on in about an hour. It’s definitely something I’d rather work on on the kitchen table than on the bike.

I saw 650ib sitting on someone’s all carbon gen3. Could be his but I’m not sure. Looked ok… full carbon just takes away from the bits and pieces that add to the look.

I saw a picture of a full real cf gen3 the other day(I'll look for it), and the cf was natural finished, no gloss, and it looked sharp.
My friend with the '18 gsxr1k said Saturday that he's starting to order all the real cf parts for that bike, 2 small pieces are on the way now.
Me? No thanks, just big money for me to drop in the driveway, lmao.
I Will be scared to ride the thing when it's done.

Slowly progressing on the emblems again, all painted Pepperdust with a satin clear. Prep and painting was a pain due to size, being fragile and the sharp tips will make you bleed if you're not careful. Just need to remove tape for paint, add more and get them on the bike. Riding the bike should be done too, hadn't moved too much over the past couple months.
