Insanity at Busa Bash III

I went up to the Gap yesterday to see what was going on. Total carnage is what was going on. I know that at least one Busa went down... but worse than that, there were no less than 5 serious accidents on the Dragon that required 3 (that's right 3!!!!) lifeflight airlifts to get riders to the hospital. One nut burned his Yamaha to cinders (http://easttnriders.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2948).

Guys, the cops are going to be all over that road like fleas on a dog's back this weekend. I recommend staying away for a few weeks to allow things to settle down.

I was up there last summer with two of my brothers, they rode very slow and at one point I was thinking, I'm going to just take off, ride ahead and wait for them up the road. About that time I saw the chopper loading someone up and decided I'd take a more peaceful ride.

(this was up by the Fontana Village)

I'll be out there the end of May on the Busa. I hope things have calmed down by then! I won't be tearing anyhting up either, just riding old stomping grounds & camping!

I heard of the insanity, I hope everyone is OK,
Im going to the Gap the first weekend in June with my Brother (who rides a FJR1300) I hope everything has clamed down by then.

Hey is that a shinko on that bike

I dont have anything against people who slam their busa and drag races. My comments on that site was toward the handling of the busa.

I'm guessing the fuel tank got puntured... everything goes downhill from that.
Hope everyone's ok...

That was interesting. I guess what it comes down to is know your limitations. Personally, I know that I haven't tapped into nearly any of the Busa's power. However, I am satisfied with the power that I have tapped into. I am not out to break the sound barrier. I really just love to ride. I take great pride in owning my Busa.

Proof when you push your limits instead of riding within them bad things can and will happen ride safe everyone make it home no matter what you ride.

I had a great time at the bash. Met alot of board members and got alot of seat time. Lunch at Hooter's was a good idea, i was close to borrowing a rear seat and stealing that waitress. LOL
My diablos are scrubbed side to side, life is good.
Just hanging at the cross roads i can see why so many accidents happen, all i hear is "check your ego at the door" or "This isn't a racetrack". My ass, tell all those other guys that this isn't a track that are flying down the hill blipping the throttle at 9500rpms.

I had a blast. Come on May7th!
