It looks worse than it is. As a guy that's done some rolling burnouts here and there, that's a common sight with burnouts. As long as you cannot see cords and/or it's not a deep gouge, then your really alright. It's easy for people to say "What the heck, change it" when they're not paying the bill.
It's a judgement call on your part, since it's your bike. I'd ride it as long as it passed my inspection.

I would of changed it before doing the burnout! Time for a change to the qualifiers, pirelli etc... huge diff. in every aspect, will make you a more confident rider. Well ,every aspect except for tire wear.

I still manage 4,000 miles out of a rear,6to7,000 out of a front:agree: Seriously time for any tire.

Oh yeah, forgot to say to also get a matching front,do not mis-match brands. good luck how ever you decide!

I do not see any threads.... you see fabric?  the tire does not look that thin to me  (Pirelli Corsa3 looks thinner than that) and the TWI  (Tread wear indicators) are not showing...   ride it
+1 i personnely would use it a little more not another 1000 miles but for a while anyway yep ride it

DO NOT ARMOR ALL IT! DANGER! INCASE YOU DIDN'T KNOW!
You can ride it for a little while more and not have to feel guilty about another couple burn outs.
Shop around and decide what you want and buy it next month

That tire would be showin' cord within 100 miles riding at 80+mph. At least mine just did. I was running about 85-95mph for about 30 miles and when I stopped to get some food I had about a 4in section of cord showin'. Went the last 50 miles doin' about 55mph and had about 7in of cord showin' when I got home. It starts to go fast when it gets down like that.BE CAREFUL!!!

Get The Qualifier if you can Afford it. Otherwise Ride it like you Stole It !!!!

PS: I only have 2500 Miles on my BT56 and it Looks Worse than Yours. Of Course the Side are a little More Worn

alright guys,

some of you were good enough to point out that my side are almost new compared to center. I love corners, canyons, etc... but I have used the bike so far only as a commuter ( think more fun than my car to commute)

As most everybody agrees, its then due for a change, yes I could still ride it a bit, but since I want to be on the safe side ( when going over 100...) I got my dealership to mount a anew bt56 on wednesday
I know guys I could go for more of a perf tire but the bt56 is already good enough for me given my driving style and needs
Now I know not to do burnout anymore

Wednesday morning I ll do a bit burn just to really kill it and take a pic for you

thanks for so much imput

It's getting down pretty good, but if you are going to get a new one,at least do another "real" burnout on that one.

Then you will feel better about spending the bucks for the new one.

You should put a nice fat 300mm tire on that puppy! You won't be able to turn, but why not? You're not using the sides anyway!

j/k

I'd run it longer. The gouge in the center isn't that deep. It will probably be gone in a few more miles anyway. It you're set on replacing it go burn the rest of it off so you've atleast used enough of the tire to feel good about changing it.

If you change brands, change both tires. Having different rubber compounds on the front and back can be dangerous. They will not have the same grip in the corners, and may not behave preidictably under the stress.
