tried to explain that I couldn't do a litre bike forum yet, until captain does more upgrades...

I just don't get it.

BTW, Raffles are not Lotteries! Raffles are perfectly legal for raising money. Ever heard of some sick kid gonna die, and parents cant afford the bills so they hold a fundraiser? hmm. better call the GOV on them!!!

I, for one, have NO problem with any of it. The raffles are cool, I think the way we help each other out is cool.
RSD had some problems, a lot of us pitched in to help..
Cache had some issues...a lot of us helped him get another bike. Hell, he spends A LOT of time running this site...WHY NOT help him? I think it is the right thing to do to help him out.

A comment was made by someone that "nobody helped me pay for my bike".....
It is Cache and Cap that make this site happen!

Keep up the great work guys. Most of us appreciate it. Soon as I get a little extra cheese, I'll send some to cap. All the members should be contributing at least something.
We all enjoy this site....or we wouldn't be here. The information gleaned from this place is most definitely worth something.

I realize that I am still considered as a newbie, but, I will have to say, from what I recall, Cache and Cap were open and honest when they were asking for donations and trying to raise money. I, did not donate for 2 reasons...one I did not and do not have any extra money to give right now......two, I can't afford to help EVERYONE purchase bikes, therefore I felt it would not be fair to donate to one and not another. Just like RSD, I would love to help him as well, but unfortunately, I can't.

But all of these donations and raffles have been public knowledge, so people have been aware of what the money has been used for when giving or buying tickets.

Hell, I am not even a donating member yet, because I don't have the cash to spare, but I really appreciate this board and the people/knowledge on it, and I will be donating when I can. I KNOW it is expensive to host a website. Yes it was Cap's choice to start it, but we all do use it, and get alot out of it, so why not help the man improve and keep the site growing and going by giving a little when we can? Where is the problem?

Don't wanna make anyone mad or get flamed, but c'mon people, we are all supposed to be friends, so let's keep things cool and settled down!!!

And for the record I have not donated $200 out of my own pocket.  I held a fund raiser and have participated in many of the raffles that seemed reasonable to me.

$5000 is not reasonable in my opinion and is at the very least bordering in illegal.

So uh, you hold a fund raiser? You participate in other raffles... But this one you have trouble with??? So you participate in other raffles all concerned and worried that they are illegal, BUT it's only the $5k one you have trouble with? What is this? Degrees of right and wrong?

GSXRFANN don't sweat the donations thing. I have had folks for years trying to get me to make the site a paid membership and I refuse to do that. This site is open to the working man, it was actually created to share information and provide a place for everyone to enjoy. I will not create a pay to access forum because I dont want anyone to miss out on information because they didnt have enough cash to pay. We have some great sponsors that are beginning to help out and keep the site going... We constantly work to make this a better site and someday it will be so incredibly awesome that we will all be glad we are part of it. No one that comes to this board should feel obligated to donate, I don't want to burden anyone, if a person has a couple of extra bucks then great, if we saved you a little on a purchase because you found information here great... Don't be pressured by anyone to pay to this site.... Your just as valuable a member as you are donating member..... Dont forget that.

Bent I hate to say this but you are wrong on this one, the members on one of the post decided to try to get cache a bike not cache and not cap either, I remember vividly when alot of people wanted to try and help, cache posted a question asking the board members if it was cool with them, It was pretty unanimous.

I gotta go With MJN all the way. Most people that have a busa have no clue about what to do with it (mods) This site helps many. It is a HAYABUSA support site not a liter bike site or a harley or a Kawasaki site so getting "bent" out of shape because there is no liter area is a little silly. People are to used to general boards like SBN or CF these are good boards and isee some familer faces from here and dennis's board also but h.org and sh.org are busa specific sites and that is what draws us.
