Kickstand mod

I won't do the kickstand mod because my bike seems very stable while parked... not sure if it's the way I park it or not. It's a personal choice. I choose not to do the grab bar hump mod... well... because I think it looks stupid. That's just my opinion. We all see things differently sometimes. If we all saw things the exact same way, we'd all have the exact same stock bike. But we don't.

As for being banned... well, yeah I was. But I'm back now. I seriously missed this forum because it's the best one.
Welcome back??? And I say that as a question because you say "you missed this forum it is the best", but, even with all the experience that this forum has to offer including the several members who have shared their personal loss about their bike tipping, your obstinence will probably leave you finding your Busa on its side some day. (hopefully not for the Busa sake).

Don’t feel good talking about this as I’m still a bit hurt, but I got my ’06 in Feb.  Did about 3500 in mods and feeling really good about how my bike looks.

I’ve been riding for over 15yrs, and I feel like I’m a very good rider.

Now, I put down the stand and well guess what - it fell over.  I’ll post pic’s tomorrow and afterwards I’ll post what it cost me to fix it.  Nothing else to say for now….
Sorry to hear about it.

I did the mod right away with my 06LE. Too many people saying to do it. Just didn't want to experience the feeling I think you are feeling now.

Good luck fixing your bike. Hopefully, it isn't too expensive.

new 2006 le fell on me yesterday, if it wasn't for the long hours spent at the gym it would of hit the ground. no mod on kickstand. wasn't thinking, I did not leave the bike in gear on a small grade, when I got off of it. the bike hit me on the back of leg. I was able to turn around and take hold of the grab rail with out it touching the ground, one big f##ken bruise and one of the bolts on the rear cowl dug into my thigh pretty good. i don't think the notches in the kick stand would have save me, but I agree the mod will give it a better angle for not tipping and I also agree that panda guy is an a hole from day one. lots of good info on this forum

Never had my '06 tip over.  But then I did the kickstand mod as soon as I got her home.
ditto I figure I'd rather not find out.
+1

Hmmm, a mod to make the busa sit alittle more stable when on the stand by removing a tiny bit of metal. Damn right i did it! It's alot better than stock now. Ever heard of Harley's locking kickstand that is supposed to eliminate tip overs?
It doesn't, as a matter of fact the reason they do still go over is from the straight out angle the stand rests at. If HD were to angle the stand alittle farther forward it would help.
I don't get all the negativity over with performing this mod?

Ok folks.....here's the deal. Lots of people have had thier bikes fall over....hence the "kickstand mod".

Me? Never fell over. BUT: I did the mod early on. It is about the easiest mod you can do! I think it took me all of 5 minutes from start to finish!

What is that old saying?...."an ounce of prevention........."

Why are you talking about it? Just freakin' DO IT!

Uh huh.  Not going to admit if mine has ever fallen over.  Seems like a mute discussion.  Go put 30-40,000 miles on the bike, then get back to me.

Alright....if my word isn't good enough for ya...(after all, I've only had mine for 7000 miles..), this should close the issue for you!

If Tim has his done.....that ought to tell you somethin.

But maybe you don't have the extra 5 minutes....?
