+1(Shibumi @ Sep. 06 2007,06:59) I remember writing a paper in college on a guy named Devlin, on the limits of Governmental powers- I agree that government is supposed to protect our freedoms, not protect us from ourselves.
Quote-
"John Stuart Mill provides the classic answer in the form of the harm principle: "The sole end for which mankind are warranted, individually or collectively, in interfering with the liberty of action of any of their number is self-protection. The only purpose for which power can rightfully be exercised over any member of a civilised community against his will is to prevent harm to others. His own good, either physical or moral, is not a sufficient warrant. Over himself, over his own body and mind, the individual is sovereign" (Mill 1906, pp. 12-13). While Mill left the notion of harm underdeveloped, he is most frequently taken to mean only physical harms and more extreme forms of psychological harm.
I don't know about ARRESTING her....(Shibumi @ Sep. 06 2007,02:09) Hmmm, is this grounds for arrest?
I'm with you. I think it is disrespectful to those of us that don't care to see someone elses underwear. I have a 15 year old nephew that I will not let wear his pants around the bottom of his ass. A litlle sag is ok but to go below the waistband of your boxers is too much.(GSXRFANN @ Sep. 06 2007,13:24) I may get flamed, but I think it is a good idea to fine the idiots with the pants on hanging down to thier knees! Stupid! Stupid! Stupid!
Now if they would get smart and start killing the rapists, child molesters and thievs!!
yea, what ever happened to "land of the free"(Rhythm @ Sep. 05 2007,21:48) American Citizen are under attack by its own gov.
+2(Shibumi @ Sep. 06 2007,19:57) Okay, no offense to anyone, but I don't like Mohawk hairstyles- they should start passing laws against it...
Pleeeeeaaaaasssseeeeeeee......
GIMME A FRIGGIN BREAK!!! SINCE WHEN DO WE LEGISLATE PERSONAL APPEARANCE?!?!
As long as their gross nasty butt ain't showing, people have the freedom to LOOK AS THEY PLEASE!!
I don't LIKE it either, but sure as HELL we have better things to do than make laws about how people can look, don't we?
Hey, how about fat people?? Let's pass laws about them being seen in public, maybe forbid them to wear Spandex once they pass a certain % of body fat???
We live in AMERICA people, we do have freedoms men are dying to protect as we type and read this. Get a grip!
(Rant off.)
