Medical marijuana....your thoughts?

Please correct me if im wrong but Its my understanding its not that hard to grow Tabacco either, yet they control that.. And most stoners are too lazy to spend time growing it when they can go out and buy it from a guy standing behind a grocery store with blood shot eyes and tweaking out.

Alcohol can be made at home too but ppl are too lazy or just dont have the time to put into making it so buying it is easier.

In some ways your correct but in others your not.
Correct you can grow your own tobacco and distill/brew your own drink.
But, it's very diff to grow tobacco that would come out and taste like a good Marlboro and it'd even harder to make your own Jim Beam.
You can grow tobacco and brew home beer but neither will set the world on fire. However it's very easy for you to grow stuff folks will talk about.
That's the diff. The govt knows this.

The topic of thread is Medical Marijuana which is as mentioned just another way to get around certain laws. There are many many proper and legitamate uses for it but the types of doctors who prescribe it are not your typical white coat Harvard med school grads. Once mainstream FDA doctors and orgs accept and advocate it and then only prescribe it thru proper diagnosis of condition it won't get the recognition it needs. Now you go in and say you got a back ache and hear you go. It should not be like that. If your gonna call it Med Herb than make it like any other controlled substance and be careful in your prescriptions.
Personally not for the stoners benefit but for the border security I think they should legalize it and then use revenue generated from it to fight the war on harder drugs like cocaine and heroin. Legalize it today and tomorrow the cartels would be out of business. Southern border would be safe again.

I say we make it legal and tax it to death. Keep the teenagers out of the loop, well most of them, with a 21 age limit. It would slow the traffic down on or border too.

I have drove drunk and I have drove stoned many, many, many times and let me tell you, its a lot harder driving drunk then it is driving stoned.
There were times I drove home drunk and I didn't even know how I got there.

Stay out of Arizona then, I don't need anyone else hitting me.

Here is what i think, government should legalize it, package it like cigarettes, tax the hell out of it, and maybe we can fight a lil harder on the border and maybe, just maybe we can start paying off the deficit. If you ever get the chance there are two documentaries i suggest you should watch

the great american drug war

how weed won the west.

Now i don't agree with everything in these documentaries but it did open my eyes to different opinions and ideas. Plus, marijuana is one of the largest cash sources for the cartels. If the government wants to hurt the cartels, hit them where it hurts, the pocketbook.

Good point. I dont grow or smoke the stuff so I truly have no idea how easy/hard it is to grow.

I don't believe in this kindof prohibition at all. Legalize it and let small business owners create farms and their own markets. Then allow the government to sin tax it. The only reason it's illegal is fear-mongering and it had to do with segregation issues among the Mexican populations back in the day. At the time they knew they couldn't make it illegal so they made it so it required a tax stamp... Yay for stomping on the constitution. Now it's illegal. Yay again for stomping.

Also the side affects are good. You will have less money spent on police stings for pot dealers and that section of dealing drugs will be put out of business. Also less population that we pay for taking up valuable space in our jails that cost us tons of cash. We could be using that same money to house our corrupt politicians...

As for medical benefits go talk to someone going through chemotherapy and using it as a medical item and then try and say it doesn't help in a medical aspect.

Too much talk , need muzak.....
Why I feel like leaving work early and going to the beach I dont know

if you like that stoned feeling your gonna do it for medicinal reasons or not. Legalize and tax the hell outa it from every angle.

Got quite a few friends/coworkers just waiting for the day that it's legalized...

Let the gov't make some $ on it...wouldn't bother me; they make money on everything else as it is...stop hassling everyone over it. Offset what they lose in arrests with higher taxes on Munchos or something

If it becomes legal, I think some people will stop smoking.
Sometimes it feels good to do something illegal, and then they will take the fun away...

Legalize it and tax it...........
