Might get outta this whole crazy bike scene

Well ive had my new bike for a couple months (05), only put 430 miles on it, and the people i usulaly rode with either sold their bikes or i dont really hang with em that much anymore. Also i am not willing to pay what insurance companies want for full coverage (2-3000+) and im sick of wondering if this bike will up and vanish one day leaving me #### out of luck and almost 11 grand in the hole. On top of that i keep hearing stories about people in cars hitting bikers and #### and honestly i dont feel like getting ran the hell over by some broad on her cell phone not paying attention. I love riding and i absolutely love the bike, but im thinking its not the thing for me right now maybe? Anyone else ever start thinking crazy like this?

The bikes an 05 that hasnt even had its 500 mile service yet. 100% factory showroom stock virgin. Never even had to wash it yet, just sits on lockdown under a cover indoors. What would be a fair asking price if i do end up selling it? I figure if im gonna do it, do it now while its bike selling season.

Anyones thoughts and input would be really appreciated.
Sell it.... if you have to make a public announcement that you are not sure you want to keep a motorcycle, then your frame of mind is not right for riding. you will just hurt yourself..

You have to be 100% when on a bike or bad things happen.

Sell now and if you change your mind later buy again..

Quiting riding on the street has crossed my mind--in 05---had a crash--my fault---just me on sand.
I am ok--just took the pair valve off--changing oil and filter----service stuff--fun to do.
Just abit worried about so many OLD drivers out there----Gonna ride again soon--- just be majorly aware whats happening around me.....started at 15 -----now soon 55-- no collisions with cars--all bails my fault---thats good

Im 22 and i have put around 1500 miles on my busa so far with no mishaps (knock on wood).Although i wouldnt be on a bike if i had a wife and kids to worry about. You are taking a significant risk on a bike.Right now no come depends on my income or me.If i die its just me.I wouldnt take the same risk if i was a family man though.

I don't know if it is good to feel that you will die if you ride a busa.. What about the wife and kids.. Listen Dudes, If you had a Huffy bicycle you could get killed on it tomorrow. so don't Use the Busa as a Sword. it is a Bird of prey and will not kill you on purpose. they are a good thing. Large and visible. quick stopping, go fast beast that can get out of harms way. So don't blame the Bike Please...

There have been many times when I wonder if this is right for me...I've got two young sons, friends and family...I want to be here for a long, long time...

I think it's very normal to worry from time to time. Most of us don't ride when we have these thoughts, but I don't think there's anything wrong with asking others "hey, is this normal? Do you feel this way at times?" etc...

I do think it's something most of us think about, especially if you've just lost a riding buddy or hear of someone going down...completely normal, but not necessarily a reason to toss the towel in...

I think the guy's just feeling out how others feel, maybe just looking for that "yeah, I know how you feel" and work to move on...maybe?

I went 13 years after a bad accident in 1987 w/ out riding. At that time I was even roadracing another bike. I got hit again 3 years ago. My Wife laid her CBR F4i down about 6 months ago. There are risks involved, but to us this is therapy that we will not give up. The decision is yours - take yours time.

I'm a firm believer of working hard and playing a whole lot harder. My father died from a bloodclot while sitting in a doctors office when he was 39 years old. I am absolutely focused on living life to its fullest, but that doesn't mean in a reckless manner. I took the MSF course and ride defensively, but I ride to love it, and I ride hard at times. If you're afraid of it, give it up. If you love it, stick with it. If both, then you'll have to weigh out your priorities and act accordingly.

Good luck!
