Miles per tire?

Just don't plan on any 1200 mile trips! I'd say your good for another 3Kof commuting. WOW!! What's the secret?? bet you use the front brake only, good thing! And your wheel is in great alignment with the front. Air pressure is probably 8lbs less than the max 42psi!

I got 4400 out of the tires that came on the bike. That is when the cords started to show, end of run. Noticed the wheel spin started increasing greatly like the last two days. I was hoping for 5000. The break in period helped lengthen the life but the pin & grin stuff hurt. I'm "rolling" on more with the second set of OEM, better life & more lift. :-), well I"m hoping for more life. 6400 now. My commute needs more turns so I can use up the whole tire better, but I manage not to square them off. Fun using them up. Wanted to go softer but am ok with the OEM, don't have a track here.

I don't get it.
I get 8246 miles on my tires while the rest of you have to buy new tires at 2000 miles.
What's up with that?
I just have to laugh:laugh:

Maby im a little bit more mature and dont do burn-outs or dont abuse my busa.

What do you people think?

8246 miles and i still have tread on my tires.

Theres an answer for everything. Im not saying im better than anyone else, im a lamer.

Im listening.

Is this what you are seeing as wear bars (circled in red)? I don't understand how the wear bars appear when the tires are worn and not show when they are new. It seems like you would always see them and that they would eventually become even with the grooves in the tread as the tire wears down.
OK, now there is actually a picture.

not about maturity or abuse. if you never accelerate hard or lean the bike over and the goal is to milk maximum mileage from a $180 rear tire, you are enjoying your Busa much differently than many of us. to each his own, ride safely.

I just ordered a new rear yesterday. I got a hair over 3K on the OEM BT015 tires. I did do quite a bit of high speed riding and frequently accelerated much harder than I needed too.

Attention VA Busa. Jokes about" YOUR" chicken planks will no longer be allowed!:rulez::laugh:

I just took some pics of my tire after 8000 miles on it.
What do ya think?

Ok, you asked what I think and it's chicken strips! Sorry, couldn't help myself there...

Looks like you do lot of interstate/highway riding. If you're not going to be aggressive in the corners, you have a little more life out of them. If you plan on going to the bash or getting frisky, I'd look at buying a new set. Tires are cheaper than plastics...

.... and as mentioned more fun!

...and broken bones. If your never under 60 and like to cruise at 90-100, a blow-out will really hurt.

billy: head over to mnsbr.com and see about local tire install costs. In a ntshell $25-40 off the bike but bringing bike to shop = $35+ per tire.

You hitting the flood run?

I'd thought about going. Where are you starting at the flood run? Looks like all th Harley Dealers gather riders and they go to the Beach place? Riding with Harley- that explains why you have chicken strips and lots of tread left.:poke: I figure if I go on this ride it will be speed limit all the way....
