Ryan...you are a god.

Thanx man. :beerchug: But really, I'm just a student of the game. Still trying to learn to be better and faster.

Now Valentino Rossi on the other hand.....that's a god.:bowdown::thumbsup:

BTW-you'd better watch out dude. I thought I overheard Lambo talking bout getting you out on the track one of these dayz.

I know, I know...I kept saying that '09 was going to be my track year, but I've recently received in invitation to go ride in France for a few days, take the bikes by ferry to Corsica for two weeks, then head back to France for three more days. I'll probably ship my '08 there for the excursion and ride the '06 while she's underway; needless to say, it's going to be a pricey affair. So, I may have to wait until 2010 to start tracking it.

Be sure, also to get a look at "Watching Scar on Palomar"; my most recent video offering. Your assessment and feedback would be greatly appreciated, oh, Exalted One.

nice starter pics...can't wait to see the rest of them

glad you all had a great weekend without any nasty problems :beerchug:

I just got home at 5:30 this morning after driving 1300 miles in 20 hours only stopping for gas and takeout. I'll get my photos uploaded to the gallery.

I also have a few hours of video to cook down. 3 video cameras on the bike and wifey in the stands with a hand held video camera.

Man what an AWESOME 3 days!!!

That track is soo incredible!! I've been to Thunder Hill, Big Willow, Streets of Willow, Buttonwillow, Pahrump(Spring Mountain) and Reno/Fernley. Miller is just in another level!! The facility is top level, the track runoff is superb(very safe), the surface is amazingly smooth, the layout may be the best in the world(so flowing and it has almost every type of corner), its 4.5 miles long which is just awesome and it has the fastest striaght in the US.

With a track like that I was able to learn more and advance my riding ability. Two things I improved on was;
learning to start my drive while still on the edge of the tire
and
coax myself into pinning the throttle(I mean 100% throttle) through turn 4 (which is named scream). Takes a lot of trust in the tire to be WOT as you drag knee though a corner!
I was able to lower my lap times throught the 3 days from a 3:32 down to 3:28 and finally down to a best of 3:24.5 :O :O

Big thanks to Rich again for putting up the Hotel al la Rich in the paddock :beerchug: I'm glad Dennis and his wife made the long drive again, something like 1200 miles! Thanks Owen and Chris for the hamburger barbeque dinner :beerchug: It was awesome to see Lamb take control of his new 600 track bike and become faster than he was on his Busa! And Ryan... dude you are crazy fast now! And its not just the big motor anymore, now I watch you edge away mid corner as well!

On Day 2 it rained a little and the track dried off, so I decided to go out and hit it. As I was on the East side of the track I saw this wall of dust heading for T1. As I went down the straight it hit T1 and I could only see 30ft in front of me with hurricane force winds!! Then it started raining. Then all the black flags came out but of course I was coming in anyway, it was all I could do to keep the wind from blowing me over!! It felt like WW3!! INSANE!

The morning rained out on Day3, but Apextrackdays did a great job for us. They bought lunch and altered their schedule to give us 5 afternoon sessions by cutting the lunch break in half! Great job ApexTrackdays :beerchug: The first session after lunch was wet, but I went out anyway and took video footage with Lamb's camcorder. The next 4 sessions were completely dry!!

I'll post up some pics later as I'm still trying to get everything put away before I have to go to work!

What a write-up, Charles! I felt like I was there.

Nice work, and congrats to you on a fantastic weekend.

Welcome home!

We got home last night around 7pm. It was a great weekend! The overheating problem was solved by taking out the thermostat, but then it took a lap and 1/2 to get up to temp in the first session. I did MUCH better this year than last year. I followed some guys and found some new lines that let me go faster, and finally got the triple apex turn down. Fast and Faster were my favorite turns followed closely by Scream and the Attitudes. Who says you can't flickabusa? She just needs to be finessed a little. Especially through the Attutudes, brakes, lean left, scrape, GAS! Brakes! lean right, scrape,GAS! Brakes! lean right, scrape, GAS!GAS!GAS! shift up, shift back down, BRAAAKES! I did see 170 in 6th gear in the straight before downshift 3 times and turning into #1 at 80 mph. Right after crossing the start/finish line. I guess I was trail braking a few times but it was because I was going into the turn too fast!

broke a caliper?!! dannnng you rollin' like that?!

Yep. Drained the rear brake system so I didn't drop any fluids on the track and ran 3 days at Miller (and made it through 2 tech inspections) without rear brakes. It's not like you really use them anyway.

Ryan ran his bike out of gas in the last session of the day and waited on the track until the litter could return hin to the paddock!:poke:
