Miller Track Weekend is over :(

Owen did so well, he now has Grandstands named after him.

:rofl::whistle:

That's awesome Dennis!! Special thanx to Mrs. Busawhipped too...
But let it be known, 2 laps after Charles broke his personal best laptime of the weekend (3:24.52 on my timer) I ran out of gas trying to chase him back down just after the Attitudes. Coasted the Gixx to Tooele corner and just sat there the rest of the session watching the bikes finish out the weekend. That actually was a lot of fun. But running out of gas mid-track does suck. :banghead:

I right on your heals. I only need to drop 25 seconds or so....

Here are a couple of me and Luci. I'm not nearly as skilled as Ryan.

Those are some pretty cool photos Dennis. I'm glad you and the wifey came out this year. VERY VERY COOL!! :beerchug: It was definitely a TON OF fun this year. Believe me, you did get faster this year than you were last year. Your lines are solid now. The body positioning will come with time. But as far as I'm concerned...Just go out and ride and who gives a damn about BP. It's all about having a good time and getting faster. :thumbsup::cheerleader:

Hopefully we can all make Barber work next year. If not, I plan on meeting Charles in Tx for a Trackday next year and we should meet up then?

I think my lap times would go down faster if my body position was better (or if I blew out the front calipers too :laugh: ), but that's why we go to the track, to get better. It was a great weekend. I really enjoyed getting to hang out with the west coast gang again. Hopefully y'all will make it east next year.

We got home last night around 7pm. It was a great weekend! The overheating problem was solved by taking out the thermostat, but then it took a lap and 1/2 to get up to temp in the first session. I did MUCH better this year than last year. I followed some guys and found some new lines that let me go faster, and finally got the triple apex turn down. Fast and Faster were my favorite turns followed closely by Scream and the Attitudes. Who says you can't flickabusa? She just needs to be finessed a little. Especially through the Attutudes, brakes, lean left, scrape, GAS! Brakes! lean right, scrape,GAS! Brakes! lean right, scrape, GAS!GAS!GAS! shift up, shift back down, BRAAAKES! I did see 170 in 6th gear in the straight before downshift 3 times and turning into #1 at 80 mph. Right after crossing the start/finish line. :whistle: I guess I was trail braking a few times but it was because I was going into the turn too fast!

Nice!! BTW Owen. I wish you told me what you were doing thru attitudes b/c I know a MUCH faster way thru there...DO NOT BRAKE for 2nd attitude. So it should go GAS! BRAKES (TRAILING if you wanna get real brave)! Lean Left! Scrape! Maintenance throttle as you're picking up the bike to go right! Roll on GAS progressively! Lean right and DON'T let off throttle! Scrape! Roll on more! Lean left! Scrape! GAS! GAS! GAS! all the way to Tooele Corner! Brakes Optional (as Rich would SAy) and I'm serious on that one. Just blip and downshift 1 gear and let engine braking guide you thru the corner as you drag knee at the apex. :beerchug:

Awesome, awesome, awesome.

Man...you guys are killin' me!

Absolutely fantastic.

Oh, Ryan...I can't believe THAT's the first video to 'air' from this past weekend.

Modestly anti-climactic...but at least you enjoyed the spectacular view!

:laugh:

:whistle:

for those who can't wait on action shots:

gotbluemilk.com

go to 8/31/2008 Miller track day Keigwins

I'm #256, red/black GSXR 1K.

Nice!

How do they do the camera operations out there? Looks like they've got 5 or 6 cameras aimed at specific areas of the track, but I noticed some zoom shots in the same location. Nice stuf.

Man what an AWESOME 3 days!!!

That track is soo incredible!! I've been to Thunder Hill, Big Willow, Streets of Willow, Buttonwillow, Pahrump(Spring Mountain) and Reno/Fernley. Miller is just in another level!! The facility is top level, the track runoff is superb(very safe), the surface is amazingly smooth, the layout may be the best in the world(so flowing and it has almost every type of corner), its 4.5 miles long which is just awesome and it has the fastest striaght in the US.

Hey Charles, that is schweet! I normally don't care about fast in the straights, but did you pin it? Did you notice how fast you got?

man i really envy you guys, i work at least ten hours a day, at least five days a week and i could never hope to have enough extra to take a weekend run to the track, much less have the money to get everything ready on the bike with gear and all. mabey someday i guess, until then i'll have to be content with the occasionally clear back road highway. looks like a good time.

Thereis a company that has photographers take pictures. they set up at a corner for a while, then move to another.

Idon't know how fast they were going, but Charles and Ryan look fast.

Those are some cool shots Dennis! :beerchug:

Anyways, best for me was a 184 mph indicated by the #4 Braking marker (where I cut throttle and pop out of the windscreen). I've got the chinbar on the tank and trying to become one with the bike's aero's as much as possible. The WSBK and AMA guys hit 195 mph radar trapped.

:whistle:

Modestly?? How bout totally!! :rofl::lol:
I was trying so hard to get Charles to break 2 seconds by playing Rabbit. And when he did, I was so totally stoked that I forgot about my fuel light and just kept going. We were gonna try and make it 3 seconds and that's when the Gixx ran out of gas just before Tooele Corner, less than 1/2 mile away from pit road "IN."

Hey Charles, that is schweet! I normally don't care about fast in the straights, but did you pin it? Did you notice how fast you got?

Oh yeah, the throttle was pinned after just about every corner until it was time to brake as hard as I dared!

I guess'ti'mate that my real acutal speeds down the front straight was low 170s on the busa and low to mid 160s on the 750.

My speedos as inaccurate because of manufacturer error and gearing changes.
