Missing title

You should always have a friend that works in the DMV. I do and never have any issues. Good luck on getting your problem solved.

I really didn't want to bumb this, but he's gone missing again. He called me thursday and said he'd ship it out friday with tracking and all. Welp, its tuesday and I still havn't gotten a tracking number or a message saying he couldn't send it in time. Once again i've called him yesterday and today with no answer. This is getting out of hand now.:tantrum:

I would say this has gone from being "accidental" into "deliberate".....I drove all the way from TN to MI to pick up the Harley that I bought in 05 specifically because of stuff like this. He was NOT getting the $$ until I got the bike AND the title....

+1 on the diliberate side. Starting to sound fishy to me. I want to think the best and that there are some good people in the world but man it takes 2 second to txt "Sry brotha". You know... ???People do it driving for good sakes.
I :please: everything works out soon. It has gone on long enough.

Cant you apply for lost title at DMV.
You have Ebay purchase papers. You have bike.
As long as it has not been reported stolen you should be able to get it ?
Try it . If the DMV is not a nightmare where you live what can it hurt ?

Im going to give that a try. Its probebly worth waiting in line at the DMV rather then to deal with this guy. I'll give them a call tomorrow and see what I can do.

i would do that , last year i sold a bike to my cousins so called friend he payed 1900 of the 2000 dollars he owed me and i said ok when you give the rest you can have bike and title ,my cousin then says oh hes good for it if he doesnt pay i will so i let him take bike and title neither one payed he gets arrested on my bike (legaly) i get a ticket and a summons to court so i payed to get bike out of inpound ticket and all payed 650.00 dollars kept bike in garage for 6 months and he wants me to give him a break so he only has to pay me 300.00 bucks like i told him to ride it and get pulled over ....my fault i think not covicted felon going away for 5 years now wants me to basicly give him a bike for his cig money in prison too much of a hassle next time i will take them down to dmv or get bill of sale ....its too bad i dont live in al i would go for you
good luck bro

DMV workers are county employees remember.
They dont care.
Put your best smile on, look her in the eye and say good morning !
Act like a little lost lamb and most likely you will get what you need.
If not hey at least you tried.

Worst case scenario PM me and I will see if I can get you a title and reg from one of the Lincon Mercury dealers here. Any tag clerk looking for an extra 20 should be able to get it done.
As a dealer when you apply for 2-300 regs n Titles a month its easy to slip one or two thru.
You know how many people we sold cars to only to have them get cold feet and refuse to relinquish title ?
No prob Mr Customer my tag clerk will take care of it , have a nice day !
That used to really mess their heads up ! Old folks we arent giving you our title. Like it matters ! Hah !

I may still be able to use an old friend for a favor.

Hey like I said. You got bike.
Its fine. He hasnt reported it stolen.
You bought it thru Ebay. Your fine.
Paper technicality but all is well.

Try taking in a $87,000 XKR convertible, delivering the customer in a new one and then 60 days later when you get title you realize its a Canadian car and cant be sold until 7k worth of mods are done to it.
Customer ? 5,000 miles away home in Toronto laughing his you know what off at us !

I'm thinking it best to keep quiet about actual title and just say 'you lost' it.
Ask for a duplicate and not fresh one.
If you mention the other guy and that real title is still outstanding they may hesitate.
Apply for registration and ask for a duplicate title becasue you cant find it.

Volunteer nothing she doesnt ask you. Dont say more than you need.
If it comes back and she says who is this other guy then let out a little more truth.
But most likely there will be a line , it will close to smoke break time and she will just take your $ and get on with it >

:please::please::please:

praying for you...

DMV says No Go. They asked about the seller and said that he needed to get the title and then send it back to me. Ugh! What a pain in the Arss.
