MotoGP 2018

As much as I like watching the IOM I’m afraid that the speeds are getting to be too fast for the roads (and streets) they’re using for the races. Tire tech is lagging in all types of motorcycle pavement racing and the ‘track’ at the IOM is not being improved. The number of red flag attempts at racing is quite showing.

Pedrosa is likely breathing a little easier now. Honda took a run at Zarco, but he reportedly wanted #1 status and that was never going to happen at Honda, at least not while Marc Marquez is still there.

So Crutchlow sets a new track record at Jerez. Crutchlow, Pedrosa, Zarco front row for the race tomorrow. Zarco the only Yamaha rider even in the mix. Rossi and Vinales both in the wilderness at this track.

Another chip has fallen in the rider market also. Tech3 KTM(!) announced Miguel olivera will be on half of their MotoGP lineup next year. Bradley Smith is not having a good week!

Mat Mladin , was always a kick ass racer , even in his younger days , always was a Aussie super talent !!
I got live race coverage at 9.00 pm tonight :super: , oh yeah baby , hope it's a good all round dice fest !!

Mate , what a crazy race that was , 3 rider race incident ( turn 6 ) , all down initially and basically hurting . MM winner once again , and some amazing overtakes to get there ( turn 11 ) for example . I tell you those Spanish blooded lads are born crazy fast , looking like MM 's year if he continues this dominance .

I went to an AMA race at VIR some years ago and was going into the hotel when who but Mat Mladin hops into the elevator. I looked at him and exclaimed "Aren't you Mat Mladin?" He was very cool and talked a bit even after getting off the elevator. He was retiring the next year and talked mostly about looking forward to getting out of the grind of racing. Excellent fellow, really a highlight of my motorcycle life.

Sorry no pictures, lost them in a HDD crash with my collection of old buildings I photographed on my rides.

The MotoGP race was a bit of a disappointment for me. I was hoping to see that race for second materialize but it all ended in tears. Not sure who you blame for that one. Looked like Pedrosa (as he is known to do) saw an opening and attempted a lunge from way too far back, with predictable results. Marquez is just making it look easy right now. That save on the gravel was awesome!

But if you really like racing that Moto3 race was not to be missed! I lost track of the shear volume of passes in that race. No corner was off limits. Great Stuff!

That was an unfortunate incident and while one cannot really blame anyone in specific, as it is what happens in racing, I feel sorry for Danny. The other two had no chance of catching Marc, Dovi should have timed it better and it looked like Lorenzo was going to lose it even without Danny coming from behind. I am sure Ducati are even more interested in Dumping Lorenzo after this.

The start of it all. Lorenzo was on the same race line he had been using. Pedrosa's bike hits Lorenzo shortly after this and Lorenzo then wipes out Dovi.
