MotoGP 2018

Well Lorenzo is really going to regret being with MM. Two massive egos and at Honda they build that bike for Marq period. Wonder if that's why MM was hinting at another manufacturer earlier this season before he signed?

BTW: Bigoltool, this is one of my favorite threads and I often come here first for GP news. You da man!

Quite welcome, I just dig on Bike racing in general, but MotoGP is the pinnacle of the sport of Roadracing.

Another couple of sites saying the same thing regarding Lorenzo to Repsol HRC.

This season has provided lots to talk about, that's for sure. I was hoping someone was going to be able to keep Marquez in sight this year and his crash/near miraculous save in Mugello helped a little, but the others have a ways to go to stop him on a regular basis.

Speaking of which, has anyone been reading between the lines on the Yamaha discord lately? Vale is being pretty politically correct about it, but Vinales head is about to explode when the subject of Yamaha development comes up. I think both of them are getting pretty sick of not winning and Yamaha hasn't made their job any easier. They don't know which way to go one session to the next it sounds like. At first I was willing to chalk it up to Maverick's lack of development skills, but now it sounds almost mutinous. Early last season Maverick was en fuego for the first five races, and has had the occasional spark since then, but in general he is back toying with the Sat bikes for the first half of the race before he gets it wound up. They just dont seem to have a good baseline to build from?

Despite the (poor) Yamaha reports, Val and Mav are 2nd & 3rd in the points race behind Marc with Val 23 pts behind and Dovi back in 4th. Hmmm

Riders will always ask for more, its just the name of the game. Rossi's comments about not concentrating on a Championship until they can get back to winning form are pretty telling. His consistency (and Mav's to a lesser extent) is what has kept him in this title chase (that and DNF's by virtually all of the other fast guys) not the so much the Yamaha beneath him.

Now hearing that Petrucci has been officially named as Lorenzo's replacement at Ducati, he being replaced by Checco Bagnaia alongside Jack Miller at Pramac next season. Miller will be on a factory spec GP19 while his young teammate gets the year old bike just like this season with Miller and Petrucci.

Also Hearing that Iannone is to replace Redding at Aprilia, but havent found much to confirm this one yet.

Sheesh what a day of silly season man!

Think about this. Where would the points be if MM hadn't T-boned Rossi earlier this year?
Marquez just needs to realize that he doesn't have to go charging in like a bull in a China shop all the time! He lost ground in Argentina because of it and he crashed this weekend for no real reason. He would be out front by a mile now if he just kept his head. His speed is there (and then some!) he just needs to learn to temper it with a little reality check. Kinda scary really!

Agree fully. When he caused Rossi to go off in that corner he had been racing no one but himself, out running everyone in front of him with ease. It wasn’t a last lap gasp at position. He could’ve easily passed Rossi in the next few yards...safely. Hopefully a tragedy won’t befall anyone trying to race him before (maturity) sets in.

I kind of feel sorry for Petrucci in all this. He got the factory spot that he wanted, and deserved, but it was almost like Ducati said "well Jorge's gone, I guess your it now"! And the Iannone to Aprilia thing isn't generating much hype either. Both of them are really good riders on any given day!

Still Crickets on the Iannone front. Pedrosa is supposed to have an announcement soon. After all that went down the last 2 days I figured that there would be a lull today. And its only June! Cant wait for the press conference at the next race!

Tech3 KTM have signed Syahrin to Partner with Miguel Olivera next year. I think Olivera is going to be a stud if the bike is decent. I personally rate him higher that Mir, but thats just me.
