MotoGP 2019

Streamlining being smooth is a myth actually. Look at all of the current stealth fighters - they are angular. I had this explained to me but it's complicated, too complicated for me to be able to reproduce that explanation.
I thought the angular shape of fighters was more to do with reduction of radar reflectivity than aerodynamics? Jetliners are still smooth.

That's why the did it but an F-22 Raptor can super cruise. That means a very aerodynamically efficient skin.

If I were MM I would turn it down in the practices. 23 crashes is going to take a toll on him and sooner or later he is going to get seriously hurt. Besides, I think he can make up 4-5 spots in the race if necessary. For him I would slow down in the practices and just maybe open it up in qualifying. I think last year it was hard to tell on the bike where the limit was. If Honda improved the feel with the tires, maybe we won't have to cross the limit to know where it is. Just a thought?

So Lorenzo and Marquez both crashed in FP3. Lorenzo went for x-rays to his back and neck, Marquez went back out and led the session. No one outside the top 10 yesterday improved times in FP3 and will go to Q1, which starts shortly.

Qatar is tricky. Today wind was honking and besides blowing MM right off the track it cools the track and puts a fine layer of grit out there. But to look at the video, it looks like a great day! Caught a lot of people out, but I don't think the Q2 cut was conditions really. Their are some real competitors in the top 10. Man Rossi needs to really change something. He looks like a rookie through the start of the race, then he pulls off a great pace. But the race for him is already lost usually before it even starts.

Just read that Rossi went out with the alternate Aero Package in Q1 that Vinales has been favoring . That uses up his 2 Aero options for the whole season now! He tore up a front tire in 5 laps in FP2 and they opted to try something radical in Q1, still came up short. Not all is well in the Yamaha camp!
