MotoGP 2020

Incredible! Notice Vinales’ hands are off the grips defending against the crash debri coming across the track? Gotta hand it to Rossi. He was mentally able to keep up the fight. I’ve had a couple moments on two wheels that were quite unnerving but nothing like having a motorcycle cartwheel across my line of vision at speed! Morbidelli’s bike was a speeding missile and if not for the retaining wall, might’ve killed someone.

Mav said he had a slipping clutch in the re-start, Vale was super stressed when he came into the pits who wouldnt eh.
A few riders had used up their allocation of tyres for the restart and had to go out with what was left and make do, eg Miller and Pol.
Well done indeed Mir hanging in there and taking his first podium, did wonder if he was going to be happy with a 3rd or keep the pressure on Jack hoping for a mistake.

Be interesting to see if Zarco gets a bollocking / punishment

There will be some serious discussions at the safety meeting this week im sure.

Hafizsh Sayrin was the unlucky Moto2 rider that smashed into Eneas bike.

You have to wonder though if this is going to impact Rossi's decision to race for Petronas next season. Racing is dangerous and with people like Pol, Zarco, Marques, even Lorenzo on the track with win or die approaches to all this I think MotoGP is more dangerous than it's been in a long time. I even wonder what Marquez is thinking from his couch about this. I think his plan was to win 10 championships as quick as possible, claim GOAT status and then figure out what is next. With a 5 year deal with Honda, how is he looking at all this now?

Great outcome for KTM and Pol on POLE , Taka Nakagami an impressive 2nd and Zarco 3rd (but his penalty from last week he starts from the pits) so Mir picks up 3rd. Rosey 15th and a crash in FP.

Moto3 had a Q1 leader kicked out of Q2 as he rode back to the pits without gloves and a broken bike spewing oil on the track and the inevitable happened.

Marc Marquez is out for 2 -3 months game over for this year.

Damn shame for Mir and Nakagami.

Mav said his brakes exploded, Alex saw bits falling off when Mav bailed at over 210KPH.

Well done KTM and Miguel Olivera.

KTM lose concessions now.

Just watched some interviews. Turns out that every team was ‘working’ with Brembo and everyone but Vinales went with the ‘new‘ brakes except Vin. He didn’t like the feel. Wonder what was wrong with the old system?

Rossi and Fabio had issues to , yamaha seemed to suffer the most.

There were 2 brake types a Low or High mass calipers and discs, most went for the High and maybe they had better cooling ducts ?

Brembo brought along some sort of 'revolution' brakes this weekend also.

Running thru some twisties on my 79 CBX one day I braked for a 50+ mph right hander when almost instantly the front brake lever pulled in all the way. A banjo bolt had come loose and squirted all the brake fluid out. Luckily the rear brake was just enough to slow my entry but it was still about as fast as I‘d ever turned that bike! Not expecting brakes at Mav’s speed I guess I’d have gotten off too. Makes me think of riding with the hump or on my Z, with a tail bag. How easy would it be, or would I be trapped on the bike.

If Mav can get away at the start and not fall back Fabio will have a job on his hands.

Aparently Mavs been using his fireball engine from the last race, built tough these motors.

Most riders are complimenting the good grip of the re suface done but the new bumps have caused some concern, brake pistons are opening up and the riders were shitting themselves when braking having to pump em up to close them.

I feel bad for Val losing his 200th podium on the last lap. Strange race though, top four qualifiers were Yamahas and yet the podium had three brands. Poor Mav just didn’t seem to know what happened. After the race he seemed confused saying he’s always fast before the race no matter which tires he uses but not (during) the race. Hmmm. The Suzys seem better in the corners, the Ducs still seem to have more straightaway speed and yet four Yamahas Q’d the fastest but only one made it to the podium. And Fabio? WTH?

There was something wrong for Vinales' bike. I haven't been able to find out what the problem was but wasn't he smoking like crazy on the grid?
