My Busa Overhaul

Should have not waited so long to send it to them,
I have had 3 blocks done, by my guy and there running!

Alright, so we've decided to move but not until the lease is over at the end of May.

Now, I got word that I will either have my engine back end of this week or beginning of next week. My fingers are crossed. I'd really like to get her completed before I move.

Man I sure hope you can get most of the busa together before you have to move !!

If you don't it will suck coz you have to be extra careful with not losing some of your bike parts.

No matter how careful you are with labeling everything there will always be something that goes missing.

Just hope that doesn't happen to you my friend.............???

Bud, 2012 was a great year for me. 2013 is shaping up to be the worst yet. My landlord is a douche canoe and I have to move. It's going to suck, yes, but I'm going to bag everything and box everything carefully if I can't put it together in time. I'm stressed, I can tell you that. This sucks

sucks about your moving situation. I hope you get it together before the move! If not I will volunteer to go pic up your engine and break it in for you while you are moving. I am only about an hour from M/T

If you want to pick it up and pay for it, I guess I can't really say no to that. Do you have spare cases and parts laying around? nah, I'm trying like hell right now to get the last $1075 up I owe for parts and shipping. It def looks like we're moving though. Back on base, yay...... I'm gonna miss having a garage but it will save us money.....

I have my cases laying around waiting on money for parts as well, but I have decided on the 1441. I do mostly long distance riding and lots of high traffic driving. The 1441 sounds more reliable and I do not want to tear it apart again. Good luck with the move and yeah its a great thing to be saving money!

Well, I got my parts in yesterday. Everything looks amazing.... except....

I don't know if M/T Performance is a sponsor of this site or not and I want to start this out saying I am NOT bad mouthing Mark or anyone there AT ALL:

I was under the impression that they were going to honor the same deal as APE had going on with the work, parts, etc. but when I got everything back yesterday, I'm missing things that APE said it would come with like the adjustable cam sprockets, cam bearings, head gasket, cylinder studs, and nuts.

I WILL say that every part I got back looks amazing and I'll be checking all the sizes tonight. Trust but verify kind of thing.

Onto the crank. Is there a way to just look at one and say That's a Gen II? I am trying to get a hold of APE right now to find out if they can use the serial number that came on it to tell me. We'll see what happens.

I'll update tonight with pics.

So where did the crank come from,, and did you send your stock crank to the machine shop?

Well since you dont have the old one to compare it to,
there are very slight difference, but you need them side by side to tell.
Other than the stroke, the main difference, is in the design of the main bearings, and a oil groove in the center of them!

Also, the HVOP gear.... how many teeth does it have and how is it different from the stock one? The pic APE has online has 34 teeth and I found them on bikebandit with 34 or 37 teeth for around $50. Just want to know what makes it different

Have you made any inquiries regarding the parts you think are missing from the deal?

I'd be right onto them about it......

Wow, just read this whole post. Now I feel like I was put in a round room and told to pee in the corner. Very impressed by your build and they way you've kept the .org up to date. Sorry to hear about the housing issue and hope the move is going well. Can't wait for the results when you are done. Best of luck with everything.

I have never shopped around for a gear, i have only used Ape's

So i guess ill sell mine on Ebay

No John, it was just a question for gee whiz knowledge.

I'm getting the run around from M/T Performance. Apparently, we never made the agreement that I thought we made and I totally agreed to pay WAY more than APE was charging for their setup because I'm an effin idgit. Wow. I'm in the midst of trying to make them make it right but I'm not really getting anywhere.

We are definitely moving. We're packing now and the bike will be the last thing to go to make sure that its got all of its parts before hand. I'm hating life right now.

Also, my landlord is a douche canoe that can suck it.
