wnet to pennsylvania this weekend soft bags two up  , about  200 miles each way  . half way there  pull  off for a quick pit stop , got real cold just before the delaware water gap had to add more layers ,  so we are gettin back on the  I80  wind her up to about 7 grand in first , shift into second  start winding her up again hits 7 grand and it feels like the chain jumps a tooth and then grabs again . wtf ! scared the #### out of me so i let off the throttle catch my breath all seems fine , i mean i am alive ! the bike is still in one piece  ,  so i wind her up again  , same thing . so i get her in 6th and leave her there doin between 80 and 100 mph cruisin speeds no problems !  whole way home take her up to speed easy no problems ! solo ride today runnin through the gears does it  again  , so i can make it happen in second ,  i cant get it to happen in first  and third  at that  rpm in third with my problem could be scary / dangerous ? and i dont think i can open the throttle in first as much as i can second   could this be a cush drive problems ?  sprockets seem ok , chain is adjusted , could it need more lube ?  any way  can anyone give me an idea as to what could be wrong ?

         thanks

im not one to yell but ido get angry when i feel like im bein jerked around ? or being talked to like im an idiot , didnt get a chance to call anyone else yet , been realy busy and dont want to give the bike up ?

You don't have to be angry or irrate...just talk to the service manager. Tell him flat out that it is unacceptable...you want it fixed, period. Even if you have to make the mechanic ride ##### and SHOW him how to make it act up.

went to a different dealer this am , closer than my current dealer ,they are located in bayshore , so i pull up these guys just finished pushing out some bikes , so i ask this guy where the service dept is he tells me and as i start walkin away and he starts askin me about my bike and the mods ? so i shoot the breeze with him for ten minutes he loves the tobin seats , so we go through the whole story about the other dealer , he is very suprised , i didnt bad moulth them i just said they will take my bike now it will be done mid sept . i said i understand that its a big job and takes time but not that much ! so he says let me introduce you to my service manager ? then we walk inside he says i can take all the info he says bring it by tues for a road test , even though we know whats wrong , then i will do the work at your convience you will have it back within a week ,better than new !

went to new dealer today , they took my bike for a ride , now he says 90 % sure suzuki will not cover it says that if he tears it apart and the clutch dogs are " scuffed " they will not cover it and it will be about 1500 dollars to repair , if i dont have the money a lean will go on the bike and i will be charged 30 dollars a day for storage ? wtf ? this is realy nerve racking cause if he tears it apart either i cough up the money or i fight with suzuki with 30 dollars per day gettin tacked on ? what do i do ? help !

yeah ,i couldnt sell somthing broken , i am just having a hard time swallowing the thought of dropping 1500 dollars on a bike i just paid 13000 for les than two months of riding i have 5000 miles on the bike and have never had a problem shifting i guess im just goin to have to give it to the dealer and get it fixed and hope its covered under warranty , but suzukis no worry warranty is a joke , you are 100% covered for manufactures defects everything else is your responsibility , and the defect is up to suzuki to decide ! total bs! i am truly disappointed with this experience !

I hear this crap so much when it comes to Suzuki I seriously hope Honda brings out a new Blackbird...if it's at least as nice as their older models my Busa is history. It appears Suzuki's warranty isn't worth the paper it's written on and the automatic response of every dealer is to blame it on the owner.

If you're going to take a $1500 hit you may as well get a new bike out of the deal. TRADE IT IN!

Pull the side and bottom fairings. Having it at a dealer, good chance of them getting scratched. Pull the front fender off, same reason.
If you could trailer the bike. Pull the tank off, remove the airbox (Cover throttle body openings).
Drain the and pull the radiator. Leave the oil filter connected.
Remove the chain.
Order up Pair Valve blocker plates. Remove the headers and pair valve.
Keep the seats, keys.
Deliver a stripped busa to the dealer. Tell em to replace transmission parts.
They'll have to disconnect some wire]ing harness connections. Loosen two front bolts and two back bolts. The engine will drop out. Probibly turn the engine on it's side and split the crankcase. Replace some gears and button it back up.
Seal up the crankcase, lift the engine back in place, tighten two bolts in front two in back. Connect the wiring harness and say it's ready.
Then fight with Suzuki to pay under warranty.

Id fix it myself if I was in your position but if your not comfortable digging in then look into getting an independent motorcycle shop to repair it. .

I do know that on warranty stuff the dealer has to fix it out of their pockets, submit the warranty to Suzuki and Suzuki is
tight about warranty work, they may even require the parts for inspection before they will pay out.

Bronto's idea is good, see how much they will knock off the price if you strip it down as he said.

I don't see how that is a tranny problem. How does it go out of gear and then back in gear on it's own. I would think if it kicked into nutral then it would stay in neutral?

I had the same problem with a FZR 1000 so I pulled the motor apart and sent the trany to R&D in Florida to be fixed and back cut it,and that cost about 300 bucks but the nice thing is after that you can go out and beat the #### out of it and not worry, and if a dealer fixes it they will just put new parts in it and it could do it again,so if that is the problem and you cant take it apart I would find someone in your area that would help you,as far as missing a gear you would have to do it many times to kill the dogs or under alot of RPM,and as far as shifting with out a clutch I never use mine after I take off so when I grab the next gear I just let off the gas very slightly and it falls in,any one here that had an old GS 1100 would have rode the same way and still does, any way good luck and if it is your trans do your self a favor and send it to R&D so you dont have to do it again latter

if i have to pay for it it will be going to fla , the trade in idea sounds pretty good! i will know on wednesday if it will be covered suzuki got the parts list on friday so i should have an awnser then,if i knew that they wouldnt cover it ahead of time i would be on my way to ohio to have it fixed but un fortunatly the only way to find out is to let them tear it down and see whats goin on , i am still hopin for warranty the bike is only a couple months old ! hopefuly they will do the right thing , then in turn i can spend money on pilot powers , pciii , tuning ect!

WHEN MY CHAIN HAS TOO MUCH SLACK IN IT MY BIKE DOES THE SAME THING, SLIPPING ON THE COUNTERSHAFT SPROCKET.

final awnser should be on monday , they said definatly not warranty but they will give me sort of a good will to put toward the repair they said it would probably not even be half ! so i feel like suzuki has abandoned me after the sale on the bike so monday after i find out how much i plan on getting my 700 dollar extended warranty money back , cause i feel the warranty is totaly fuckin useless ! i could ve had my bike fixed three weeks ago by a board member in ohio for 1/3 the price suzuki is charging wouldve been a great trip ny to ohio he would have fixed iot in a day , but i figured this out after they had ripped into the bike and had me by the balls ! goin on thre weeks without a bike , it sucks ! bike was two months old and broke the first month i had it , SUZUKI SCREWED ME AND IS HANGING ME OUT TO DRY ! THIER WARRANTY IS USELESS!

John,
Start playing hard ball. Research the NYS lemon law and go in with both guns. Try those attorneys in NYC, they should be able to help out. Sux to hear you've gotta go this way, but sounds like they got ya. Don't give in. Suzuki may be a huge corporation, but they surely could do without bad press on the internet!
