I installed the one piece clutch mod and it came with heavier springs. Do i really need them or can i go back to the stockers? The lever pull is significantly more now and i'm not liking it. I figure since my engine is relativly stock, that running the stock springs would be ok.

Opinions wanted.

I have them as well, took some getting used to especially in traffic! But I needed the extra grip,I would think you would be ok with the stocks,so you just wanted to get rid of the back torque slipper thingy when you down shift?

Glad you asked. I'm getting ready to install mine and think about leaving out the spacers, or at least 3 of them..

What my stock one was doing was slipping. It felt like a loose chain skipping on a sprocket under hard acceleration. After some inspection i found that all the nubs that fit in the groove of the stock piece was rounded, so it really had nothing to hold against and it would slip.

Do the HD springs really add that much more pull to the lever? I am in the process of doing my clutch now. I mainly dragrace, but I dont want excessive pull on my clutch lever. I do have the slave support bracket, but what are the pros and cons of using a mixture of springs?
I too have been told to leave out the spacers and just use the HD springs. What are the spacers for anyway?

yes they add A LOT more pressure.

spacers are there to add tension to the springs.

I just put mine together and the spacers make quite a bit more pressure. I started to put it together with 3 but backed out. I'm heading to hte strip tonight and see how it works!

Does anyone make a quick access cover that fits under the bodywork?

A billet unit....yeah but in reality.....so many bolts tor emove...you might as well remove your stock cover.

I was gonna make something BUT

after the sprocket cover deal...

I don't feel like being stuck with 20 covers or any of the other "happiness" which followed.

If you want, go ahead and make a prtotype or two, and I will be glad to test one for ya for free...LOL!!!

LOL!!! I hear ya man!! Cheap labor is hard to find!!!

I only have serious issues in stop and go traffic. It doesent feel hard at first but after a day of riding I have to stop sometimes. GM for a stocker what the stock springs should be fine. Just reduce the lever travel as much as you can if you decide to keep the heavier springs. How are things down there in VA. I gotta get down there man I miss it. SweetWaters restaurant is calling..
