I Love my busa and have been riding one for 10 years (over 90K)as of next month , But the new 14 is bad a$$. It took Kawi 12 years to do it and I think they go tit right this time . Zuk better do something or the best selling bike will be sitting in the shops.

The difference in performance wasn't that great, rider weight and skill still tells the tale. Same rider times I think were 9.39 at 151 for the Busa an a 9.09 for the ZX at 154. What the the rider did say was it took a a few times to get the best run from Busa while electronics from the ZX had him running his best by the 3 rd run, he also commented that the ergos on the ZX were more comfortable. Never sat on one myself. At least this non Kawasaki owned lap dog got a some nice runs with the BUsa not like some other pro riders I have read about that couldn't get the Busa into the 9's ...cough.....cough... ricky

Took them long enough, but they did it. Give credit where it's due, the 14R is a bad b!tch. Stock for stock it's quicker and more powerful. Game recognize game.
Hate on Gadson all you want, but the man can ride. He's put bike drag racing on the map. Not the best rider out there, but by far the most recognizable, and definitely one of the best.

Not hating on Gadson just that when he did the comparison between the bikes it wasn't a .3 he was bragging about in the bikes it was a 1.3 second difference I think. Not to many people, at least on this board could believe that as you said one of the best riders out there couldn't get the Busa into the 9's I gave them the credit they deserved just needed to see an unbiased comparison first

But the bike is still fugly so the Busa still gets my love

I was one of the first people in the area to buy a Busa, a 2000 red and silver, last of the unrestricted models. Back when I bought my Busa people thought is was ugly, they were hung up on the looks. They thought the Busa was a joke, read the top left side of this picture. But given time people got past the looks and could see what an animal the Busa was... then everyone had to have one.
Like it or not the ZX14 is a nasty bike but most people will never ride it to it's potential. Most riders will just ride it's stats and go with the reputation the cycle mags gave it... By the way... things keep up and for the same reason the speed wars were haulted back in 2000 with the ZX14 and other bikes getting top end restricted to 185 mph. The insurance companys are going to black list the bike and push the price of insurance out of sight.
Suzuki will come back, with out question...

As for unbiased comparison? It will never happen with money for advertising involved and some magazine lean towards the writer's personal favorites. If we all went by what so of the mags say are the greatest we would be riding Ducatis..

One of the last write ups on the B King put it up against the new V Max.. The B King killed the V Max but in the end they stated the V Max was king of the universe.. In the end its what they want to print... Big deal.... We Know what we have owing Busas and B Kings.... Im happy with what I have.

When is faster fast enough? At sea level it is no longer about the fastest bike, it is about the fastest rider. We are at the point where the only weapons left, are electronics to replace skill.
