Palin was impressive

Has he even sponsored a bill or any legislation of any kind while in office? ???

Just the fact that you ask this tells me you base your vote on preconcepted ideals. Don't feel alone, I'll bet 80% of the voters do the same. Obama has sponsored several bills. There were a few misquotes by Palin, but no more than most candidates. A little reading on Obama wouldn't change your vote but you might not speak quite as critically of him, either. I can assure you I know a heck of a lot more about McCain than most dems, and I've never been especially critical of him except when he embraced Bush after GW's horrific attacks on him in the primaries in '00. If he would change his plan in Iraq, I would be OK with either nominee this year. I'm really sick of the separation of our nation between the left and right. Both candidates this year are fairly moderate (again read, please read!), and either no one understands that or they just plain refuse to admit it.

Palin's 'speech writers' were great and she delivered fairly well on such short notice. What she doesn't know about international affairs or even the rest of America would fill a book though. Suppose the republican writers can advise her on those issues as well???? Her comparison with Cheney was pretty funny though, a pit bull with lipstick... The repubs have sealed their fate with this choice. Obama/Biden for sure now!

As if Obama has much if any international experience? I'm not sure I would be measuring the amount of "experience" any candidate has if I was an Obama supporter.

She wasn't just impressive, she was also fun to watch. She's got spunk and she's down to earth! I also enjoy the way she thinks even if it's with the "speech writers" help (sigh). The thing that hooked me was the fact that she sold the jet and did it on eBay! I'm sure that senators and congressmen (from both parties) alike are scurrying around like roaches when the lights come on. They can't want -that- woman in office.

I'd vote for her president over any of the other three options, personally.

Thank you for that... So many just fall in line with their party lines, doesn't matter what they stand for or if they really are Mickey Mouse

I enjoyed Palin's speech last night, but I can sit here, as an undeclared voter and say Obama sounds great, Biden's speech was great, I'm sure McCain will rally his followers tonight...it's all just talk. I want someone that will actually DO, and until we all come together on that fine detail, I think we'll be in for 4 more years of a mess no matter who's in office...

Just my :2cents:

Southside.

Your blind allegiance to Mr. Obama is disturbing.

I don’t think referring to a vice presidential candidate as a "broad" is respectful by any means. Your lack of respect is disturbing also.

And it was disturbing enough to hear how the democrats have been trying to sling mud on Mrs. Palin about her 17 year old daughter, but now you are the first one to make it an issue here. Give it a rest.

Anyone that knows ANYTHING about parenting knows a 17 year old is going to do what a 17 year old wants to do. The amount of the money the parents have, the upbringing, all of that, in the end sometimes things just happen that the parents dont have control over.

I have never in my life of 46 years ever blamed a parent for their child getting pregnant, that should NOT even be close to something to try and bring up as a negative against someone running for office. just shows that the family is human and they did not try to cover it up in anyway.

I will say one thing for Obama, the news media interviewed him the other day and they tried to lure him in by asking him what he thought about Mrs. Palin’s daughter being pregnant. And he responded in a way that made me give the man a nod.

He basically told the reporter that teenagers will be teenagers and what is important is how a family handles these issues. If I remember right he gave Mrs. Palin and her family a thumbs up and then he followed up stating that Mrs. Palin’s daughters pregnancy should not be a factor in anyway with regards to the election and that it had no bearing on the issues at hand and that was the end of what Mr. Obama had to say about it. So like I said, I was impressed on his comments. very respectful and a very above board stance I felt.

So if Mr. Obama who you are blindly following is going to call B.S. on how the news media is trying to make a big deal about Mrs. Palin’s daughter being pregnant why are you going to get on here and stir the pot.

Like I said, give it a rest.

Well I guess Palin is the best choice .................................... IF YOU'RE A WEAK, AZZ DISGRUNTLED FORMER HILARY SUPPORTER OR A GOOD OLD BOY THAT DIDN'T GET ENOUGH OF JACKING-OFF TO ELLY MAY FROM THE BEVERLY HILLBILLIES !!

:poke:

WoW! Not to thread jack, but I have NEVER seen so many people in one thread at a time!!

:) :)

What the heck are you talking about? what comparison with Cheney? a pitbull with lipstick? were you fricken stoned when you watched it or what?

Maybe I missed something but the only referance I saw or heard about pit bulls and lip stick was someone was holding a sign and it either said "Hockey moms for Palin" or "Soccor moms for Palin" and she made a comment about "what is the differance between a pitbull and a hockey mom" and she repsonded "lipstick"

So what the heck are you talking about?

And your comment about the republicans sealing their fate with Palin? seriously she is more qualified that both of the democratic candidates. You are probably right, they did seal there fate. it was an awesome choice. the polls are stating a lot of democrats are now on the fence. a lot of voters who were going to vote for clinton, decided to throw their support behind Obama, but now those same voters are swining to the other side in support of Palin.

No one can count their chickens until their hatched, but seriously, I have never been loyal to a "party" I would vote dem or rep, it doesnt matter to me, I vote for who I think will do the best job, and right now I think the republican ticket would by far to a better job and have a better ballance.

So.. yeah good luck to your candidate, I believe he will need it.

So what is the message, it is fine to get pregnant in your teens as long as your parents can afford to support you??

I had to disprove your solely opinionated BS unemployment rate banter between Clinton's and Bush's administrations (lower during Bush's term) in a prior thread and now you act as if people think it's COOL her 17 year old is pregnant. I have yet see anyone state that...here or anyone else. Just because she and her husband are able to support their daughter does not make them bad people...it's a problem many families face and yes, some will have a harder time at it than others.

BTW, Obama's mother was 17 when she got pregnant with him.

We are more than welcome to have our opinions on the entire election...but why do we need to bring it here and fight about it? This place is my escape from the Damn Presidential race...I see it on every channel at work and at home...give it a rest here.....If somebody post up about their pick and you don't like it....ask for you click back......don't start a pissing match here on the board about this stuff...We are grown adults here...Why are we acting like a bunch of little brats? ???

Why you gotta bring Bill Clinton's hobby in to this?!

She could get IT !! But I would make sure to wear a condom, cause they seem pretty FERTILE up there in Alaska!!

:poke:

Well, for all the short bus riding kids here, Palin made a comparison between herself (a soccer mom picked to be the VP, just the other day I should add) and a pit bull (Cheney, who is the VP) and said the only difference was lipstick. Now, who was "fricken stoned?" What the hell did (you) think she meant? A comparison with a real pit bull?

In re: "Maybe I missed something" You've missed something alright if you're prepared to vote for a 72 year old former soldier who was conquered in the Hanoi Hilton decades ago and who's political party chose an unknown female governor of a minimaly populated state who's only prior government experience has been as the mayor of a tiny little town in Alaska.
