32 yrs is nothing to sneeze at these days....the boss lady and I are coming up to 33 soon (June).
Hi. I would have.been 51 years for me last June. But when I crashed my F5000 Lola at the race in Mossport she walked out. ( She said it is me or racing. I said I will miss you. ) Thr real way it was she just walked never even came to the up to see me.

The Mrs. and I are chipping away at paying off the house, then I retire. We did the math over dinner tonight, and the amusing thing is that we are only a few years behind if we had stayed in that first house we bought in Iowa for $68k on a 30 year loan. Amazing. I think we are currently in house number five.

We got a 15 year on the current place and hope to knock it out in 5 years (thank you kids for "flying the nest..."). I was thinking that I would retire upon paying off the place. But then reason and logic came into play...

I should continue to work for a year or two and buy a fancy-pants Gen III for my retirement. Genius...

That Iowa house had one of my best garages BTW. Off an ally with a properly huge two stall.

My son (turning 30 soon) and I. Wow. (Paid $300 for that truck.)

Got this beauty at the annual police impound auction for $160. Lean times, but we made due.

Vancouver to Seattle and back (400 miles) and three inspections today for work (12 hrs). Woof. Had to pass by a very nice BMW / Triumph / Ducati store. (Sad face.) Got about 1/2 through the Longmire / Junkyard Dogs novel. Very good. Weather is cooling off. Chance of snow in the forecast. Been puttng the wrist-rocket on the Battery Tender once a week. Sigh. The urge to ride is strong with this one...

Remember that I time I rode to Nevada so I could go as fast as I ever have on the surface of the Earth until I lost my nerve..? Yeah, that was awesome! ('Busa loaded with camping gear and saddle bags. Just laughing at me. "Come on son, let me run!!")

Winter to do list: Replace tires (probably Road 6's), shock / fork service, maybe my suspension guy can do the steering damper too, flush clutch fluid.

While the flip-up helmet is very convenient, and I love the flip-down sunglasses, I can't help but think that a one-piece would be quieter.

I'de have put my gear on the road side, made a slow pass down that road for about 5 miles, about 140mph, make sure it's clear, stop and move any big rocks or brush...then pin it to win it, 6th gear rev limiter, back and forth, a half dozen times each direction, or until you get bored, and/or realize you'll be using the extra gas you hope you brought to get out of there.
lol
