PDX GSX1300R

New dampers in. Test drive tomorrow. Hope this is the fix.

Friday morning broke with light rain. So I drove the station wagon.

I was really hoping to get in a ride. I got in three days in May and an afternoon in July. A pretty crap summer. I've never done well with stuff that sits. I honestly don't know how snowmobile guys do it.

I set up the wife and daughter-in-law with an "English tea" so my son and I could have some time today. He's big into music so we found this super cool pawn shop.

Then we went to this new-to-us BMW / Triumph store.

He was digging the chick-magnet 325...

IMG_5221-M.jpg

Then this dude on an Aprilia rolled and blipped his open exhaust. That was cool.

IMG_5223-M.jpg

And we saw this souped-up German car.

Which, in all, made for a pretty good day. And reminded me of how much I love to ride my Suzuki. And yet, if it sits much longer I should add some fuel stabilizer. Frustrating.

That's a few guitars....did you end up getting one?

I found a map for you today. "Western Canada" copyright 1967. Includes: Yukon, BC and Alberta. It has an offer for a gas card, but I think it requires one of those new-fangled carbon paper credit card thingies.

Looks like the "trail" past Brown Bear Lake to Hyder / Stewart had been paved. I'd like to see that sometime.

Hey boss!

You ever do this little stretch south of Mt Rainier?

Haven't yet, I'm sure it's nice.
I just rode Tacoma to Westport last Monday to go surfing. Stater got me @ 62 in a 45 on the 101

Cool pawn shop. I repair and collect vintage electric pianos/organs, guitar amps/effects and tape delays (lots of 60's/70's stuff) if he's ever on the hunt for something specific feel free to reach out.

Knock on wood, I've never been pulled over on the Suzuki. And, with my job requiring that I be able to drive, it's kind of a big deal. And yet, when the visor clicks shut, I tend to go. Not sure how much longer I'll get away with this.

A day of firsts!!

Ride link!

First time I checked a route, only to discover that, past the point-of-no-return on the gas tank, there was a one-hour stop for a crew to clear trees. Sigh. On the plus side, I had a great visit with this guy from New Mexico. He was digging the 'Busa.

First time I rode 328 miles in one day! The bike was just fine. I think I could do back-to-back 300 mile days on two-lane mountain roads.

First time I changed my route mid-day, due to sitting in the woods for an hour, and discovered the best "large, iced, mocha" in the town of Sisters, OR.

And... First time I coasted into my driveway, after half a mile of missfiring, on low fuel....

Local Christmas trees are looking good.

Love the low, fall, sunlight.

Fire damage from a few years ago.

Ride boldly my friend...

IMG_5270-M.jpg

There are sections of road that are dimpled from falling rocks. Pretty wild.

Rush hour.

The Garmin phone app gives me a GPS even with no phone service. Love this. I'm the blue arrow. Sitting. Gas is at the lake just below me...

Best mocha!

New personal best fuel range! Previous was 210. I never look back...

I wish I could do that kind of mileage in a day, week, or month. Enjoy it!
