Corrected.. you are correct, James Best is still alive lease: Sorry was confused with Uncle Jesse

Hazzards budget was increased so Boss Hogg got Roscoe a new Hot Pursuit Vehicle. Since then the Duke boys couldnt out run Roscoe. Thats why the show was discontinued.
