I like those from schnitz... I see no reason in the world to ever have those super duper adjustable dealies personally..

and .. uh... CLUCK ebay.

I'd rather pay the extra $10 and know that I'll get the item... plus ebay is turning into a ripoff from a selling POV.

I bought a set of dog bones from pro machine on ebay for $26.00 that raised it up one inch, the bike handled much better cornering, then I bought a upper tree that would alow the front end to drop 1.25 inches now I can stay closer to my freinds on 600s around twisties

Raising the rear of the bike does transit some added weight transfer to the front , the added weigh does also at the same time gives a firmer traction patch overall but its not terribly noticable. Raising it if your not afraid to get down low and dirty will notice a big difference , stability isnt comprimised but actually gained slightly , It does take some getting used to at first. It has alittle different fell rolling into the corners fast if your used to the normal riding position. The front shock can be adjusted to meet your body weight and riding habbits and Give it a more form fitted feel. Unless your really into circuit racing or being suicidal in the twisties with elbow almost on the ground the front shock shouldnt have to be worried about.

I installed mine yesterday and did a test ride in the canyons today;

WOW!!

I like it! I weigh 165lbs and have always had to muscle(countersteer) to make the bike lean. With the 180/55 and the +1 dogbones, it feels a lot more like my GSXR1000 did and I don't have to muscle it down anymore. I can ride more relaxed and its not nearly as much work.

So what does this +1 mod do to stability @ very high speed?

Someone needs to revitalize this thread.  There's a discussion that's popped up in the GenBike forum on this subject.

I would be curious to hear about how the 1" raise in the rear affects the high speed performance ??

In my opinion, I think the +1 made my bike better at high speeds compared to stock height. I feel the bike is nimble, and steering is excellent. Now, as far as taking corners at 190+, Im just not sure, but I would never go back to stock height, and have no clue why anyone would want to lower their rear for the street.

I've made several other changes to the bike which also contribute to the good handling, however the +1 is a mod I'm happy I've done.

I just ordered a pair. I'll let you guys know how it goes. Heck I've been asking about this for weeks and just today I got all kinds of good info. ... especially from this thread.

best regards ... be safe

If you have any questions about installing them, or other concerns on the +1 links, drop me a pm, or post up n this thread. I think you will like the change the +1's make on your bike.

Thanks, I'll yell if I need some advice.

the only thing I'm brainstorming on now is what or how I'm going to fab something to attach to my scissor lift jack to raise the bike at its mid point (without forking out 100 bucks or more for a cycle jack ... I have a rear stand but can't obviously use that). I have an idea ... but I ain't telling you what it is yet.

I'll keep you posted. Hopefully the bones will arrive tomorrow and I'll have all weekend to fit the install into the schedule my wife has made for me ... :-)

I got my dog bones from Schnitz racing this weekend.  They look good ... nothing nicer than billet aluminum and alloy components on a bike.

But I'm going to bite the bullet and get a cycle shop to install them (not Suzuki though).   I just don't have a safe way to lift my bike and take the weight off the suspension.  I could rig up something but I'm just worried I may do something and knock it off balance and fall ...

... I'm slowly collecting my tools special for bikes but I don't have a full lift yet ... only a rear wheel stand.

They told me it would only be one hour of labor.  (still its around 75 bucks but its worth it to keep the risk of dropping my bike at a minimum)

I'll let you know how it goes.  Wed or Thurs I'll take it in for the install.
