I think the Republicans ae only doomed if they don't move on from Trump. A lot of moderate voters are sick of him.

That isn't true at all... a truly benevolent leader that stands true to the individual rights spelled out in our founding documents is only a danger to the Swamp, Deep State, and other powerful entities like corporations involved in influencing the masses. When Trump repeatedly called the Washington Post, New York Times, CNN, MSNBC, ABC, NBC. and CBS ( did I get them all? lol ! ) Fake News it resonated with millions of people that are paying more attention than ever to how politics and culture are changing.
Time and time again in history a benevolent leader is attacked and killed. The most recent one was a former leader of Japan.
As far as Trump being a Republican... well... it was the party he choose because that party had numbers that could compete against the Democrat Machine... I would say Trump is libertarian in some ways. I would say Trump wants America to win. Trump didn't start any wars, did he? You say people don't like Trump... well... ok... but even some of the haters would rather have the economy running like it did under Trump as compared to how it running now with China Joe as the new puppet in a long list of puppets during my lifetime. Lost lives, lost businesses, lost momentum in the many pursuits that a new generation was embarking on... all because some sickos on the other side of the world think making millions of people sick will help them gain an edge over the world. The CCP is just like a cancer on the world... will anybody ever hold them accountable? The state of Missouri even filed a lawsuit a while back... doubtful that would ever go anywhere.

You can always become a campaign supporter for the candidate of your choice... you can donate money, you can raise money through political action groups... or, you can move to a state that supports the people you support. See... you have the freedom to choose whatever you want because the country was set up that way.

If there are similarities between this man and the former leader of pre-war Germany it is due to the fact his supporters are following him and not his political alignment....there are almost three parties in the US right now, democrat, republican and Trump...that's not healthy for a country...but it's also not all the fault of Trump....his followers are his followers, he can't really help that.
Washington also owned slaves (as was the trend at the time) so comparing what he did or was as a person isn't 100% foolproof either....
