Not that I'll change your mind with any of these things but I'd like to share my story. I grew up poor but always had my basic needs taken care of. In high school, College was pushed to all the students but they never mentioned the actual cost of going. All I heard was go to college and you'll get a great job. So that's what I did. I worked in high school and had 3 jobs in college to pay for my books, gas and other expenses. I only had two months off after graduating before starting work. As soon as i started working, i started paying off my loans every month. I have never missed a payment and never have been late.
I try to live within my means because i know what it's like not to have much. I don't go out to eat, don't buy fancy clothes or shoes. If this loan forgiveness never happened, I would still have to pay for the loans because there is no getting out of them. It's not possible to file bankruptcy and have them wiped out. I still have some student loans left that I'll continue to make payments until the debt is paid.
Not all of the student borrowers are out here living in luxury and ignoring their debts. Some of us have worked since we were young and continue to work our butts off to pay back what we took.
This is the last thing I'll say regarding this because it's something we will never agree on. I do hope we can continue to have great discussion on other threads about our bikes and riding.
