I have had them on both my Busa's and love them. Attached is a photo of how a slider can save some of the plastics. now remember this was a 50 MPH crash into the side of a car! Both car and bike were totaled. But for this pic the bike landed on its right side and slid down the street just behind me!

I like them for highway pegs, sit back, set the throttlemeister and I feel like a harley owner with real HP.

I want down september 28 2007 I had a set of cheap sliders on from e-bay 38 bucks only damage the bike had (at 45 mph )was left bar end small scuff, clutch lever small scuff, mid pannel big scuff left rear directional small scuff and left can good grind on that one, and last the stator cover good grind on that too which produced a small leak.

My wife went down on her Gixxer 1000 last year and had very minimal, almost unnoticeable damage on the bike.

I don't think frame sliders are a guarantee of anything except increasing your odds of reducing your repair bill.

I just saw them save my buddy's GSX R1000 right side fairing yesterday in a 20 mph crash. VORTEX sliders work well because they have a replaceable puck. His puck ended up coming off from impact and the base was slightly bent. It hit very hard on the right side and still saved his right lower/mid fairing from being scratched.

My thoughts are a slider will save you in a tip over...even my cheap Ebay sliders...saved my plastics in a tip over, actually just a scrape to my stator...now its a woodcraft !!!

to cut the plastics...ummm no

Don't you guys have insurance??? My deductable for at fault is 500 bucks...damage in a slide will be more than that anyway

For street riding I recommend them.  But for trackdays...  Its very debateable.  Some guys say that once the bike slides into the grass or dirt, the frame slider can catch and cause the bike to start flipping.  These same guys recommend folding pegs/lever as those can start flips as well.  But others point out that there is no scientific proof that these sliders/pegs/lever cause the bike to start flipping in the grass or dirt.

So if you're mainly a street rider, get them.

If your mainly riding trackdays...  its 50/50.

I have very good experience with the T-Rex sliders(no-cut version). I am trying to upload photos but having an aggravating time with it. I just went down last night and the right slider bent back toward the engine destroying the plastic, well at least having a hand in the destruction anyway. However I do think they helped with slowing the bike and keeping it from sliding farther than it did. And the bar that crosses over did not bend at all. The outer bracket that bolts to the motormount bent and the bolt that bolts the crossbar in place bent or broke. In my case had I used conventional sliders they may have slowed the bike even quicker but who knows. They may have just broke off or bent as well. I don't really think they will help in a high speed drop, maybe in a slow speed parking lot tipover. Good luck with you choice and as soon as I figure out this dang photo issue I will show you evidence.

Check out my other thread: My crash thread with pic link

There are pics there so you can see how those T-rex sliders perform. And no the crossbar did not bend, one of the bolts however did bend as well as the bracket. I do believe they took the brunt of the fall and helped slow the bike from sliding further than it did. Good luck with them, they take a little tweaking to get to fit so leave all bolts loose till you get eveything attached. I do believe I will put them on my bike again when it is put back together.
