ROADTOAD's new ride

That's because, 'look, an H2', and nobody pays much attention to an old Busa.
At a distance, your Busa looks much like any other, until you get close enough to see that something is a little different, then hey, it's got this, or that, wait a minute...the whole thing is aftermarket!
Not many eyes spot what an awesome machine that really is.
lol
I notice this because I personally always look for details on bikes , and because I put that Busa together , I have always watch reactions . Most motorcyclists I come across will come up for a chat , but only a few will notice the built Busa in all history of owning that bike . A Busa owner will sometimes be the exception to that tho . True also with the other bikes , the ZX14R does attract attention from the blaze green paint and polished aluminum arm , but only handful of people are riders that look at that bike .
The H2 is fairly rare in South Oz , then there is a lot of myth built up around that bike , deserving and not , and is very recognizable . I got to say , even with the tires warm riding yesterday , I was finding the H2 wheelspining on midrange power and beyond , the boost feel is amazing to experience . This Woolich tune , despite the last untapped percentage of fueling / rpm mapping still left to do , the boost now really kicks in , this tune has made the power spread come alive , with boost felt from 2000 rpm .

Speaking of a ZX…saw this one at the dealer in Fresno. Looked to be in pretty good shape. They are probably as scarce as Hayabusas around here. I never see either. Mine can be among a dozen bikes but only the older guys ever comment on it. The young ‘go fasters‘ as I call them pay it no attention at all.

That color scheme is a limited edition over in US , or special edition , GPZ900R tribute , I like that a lot , because it is not available down under . A fella I met through parts , wanted that scheme so bad , he was going to try to get bodywork shipped over , pre covid tho .

Just $8,900 plus shipping. I noticed the right front side reflector was missing and there was a dent in the left can up high, not a scrape just a small dent. I didn’t ask anyone for the mileage but it looked like it had been well taken care of. Geebus, what would shipping to your country be?

Be a nightmare figure I bet , have you taken one for a blast Wuzza , really more of the same big cc grunt as Busa , a super smooth big block 1 or 2 gear used only on flowing mountain run , even at your elevation .

I got a feeling those robot voiced channels , in this case new H2R scoop are a bit of shite .... The H2R might get updated , but I am doubtful . Same for the the H2 for 2024 , the price has gone up AU$ 6K for 2024 . BUT , not from updates . The H2 is being withdrawn from the EU market , so the rest of the world pays the lost market $ shortfall . I got lucky with the last available 2023 H2 in Sth. OZ , sheer chance tho , because they were all sold , but with mine , the fellas finance failed , and it didn't leave the showroom . I was ready to pay deposit on a 2024 with 6 months +wait , when I got notified about my 2023 .

Well this bike isn't fully freed up HP yet , but tapping out 220bhp at 13 thou , 1st time ever , today , flat out in third , is crazy quick . One section of road only , was the only chance at a bit of a run , and it is quick to pull a gear , I was surprised once again at the boost urgency . Running no traction control , the bike is very touchy on the throttle , and I am finding this bike much more of a handful now compared to before the tune . A lot of traffic on my way back , so took it easy , and ran it with traction control back on 1 , the least intrusive , and helps take a bit of that throttle touchiness off . Then I got a low fuel warning light with over 30km to next fuel station . Nursed it back from then on , because I was unsure of what range the light comes on . Made it to a petrol pump back in suburbia , and put just on 10 liters in and it bloody near filled it . That means , must have 6 liters at least on the warning lit up . Obviously , going to take a bit of time adjusting and getting used to this bike , it certainly requires my full attention to punt fast , it handles well enough , it just seems to bring everything ( like corners ) to you faster ....I like it a lot .

Very nice Toad, but a mere whimsical flight of fancy and will never be a serious contender for the Crown of ' Ultra sharp, ultra light, most enhanced hyper sports bike.'
Well yes , I don't think anyone buys a H2 thinking that it is the best contender for handling etc. sport bike....they would be the other options I had like SP2 V4 Ducati , BMW M1000RR etc , lmao . I am certainly going to have fun doing my thing with this bike anyway , it already feels pretty special and I am only just getting started .

Don't worry, us old guys get you and where you are going with this bike....

I'm a little cranky you ditched the Busa but in time I will get over it like I got over Bryan ditching RJ (kind of).

Thanks Sarge , I guess we do what we either want to or need to at the end of the day , either supported or not . At the very least , Bryan and myself are still actively involved with motorcycles , and are adding some differing rides to the org. mix . Even if one of us , sort of crossed over the dark line.....
:)

I always laugh at the race replica guys who can't ride longer than 40 minutes on their track-focused sports bikes. It's one of those "See you, wouldn't want to be you" sort of moments!

I guess this H2 is as close as I am going to get to a racier crouch , sort of like the old days of Gixxer ownership . But remember the ZX10R owner I met a few weeks back , now he actually preferred that high pegged / heavy on wrist style over my comfy ZX14R , amazing dude ! The ZX10R is said to be a very extreme ride position , even compared to other 1000cc full sport bikes .
Where as myself , although I also love the full sport superbikes , i would be most surprised if I could ride longer than 40 min at a time , but I can still see myself trying .

I took my rr out wednesday to blow the cobwebs out, boy it felt light and responsive compared to the busa. My leg ached the moment I threw it over and after 10 minutes was throbbing, my knee going stiff. I pulled up at a T junction and got the bike on the stand (EDIT: not easy when ya right leg is as weak as a kitten ), then got off and torturously stretched that leg. I hung around for another 15 minutes, 2 smokes, then rode home. Bloody leg. Bloody old age!

I look back at all those hours I spent on the race track in both races and practices (and courses) and my body aches....

I can last only so long on the Hayabusa...probably and hour or so but even though my body says get off, my mind still wants to ride....

You got to get that peg thing happening bro , to give yourself half a chance at enjoying the ride . That BMW is a great bike to keep along side your Busa , I know how potent they are , well worth sorting out the ride position .

Short rides better than no ride Sarge , like when we do ride and find yourself immersed in that zone threading corners together smoothly and flowing , you forget the aches and pain for those sublime minutes . I ain't going to stop till I someday drop ...
