running from \"the man\"

It seems like I get chased every weekend and also a couple of times on my way to work. (Boss always wonders what happened when I come in 30 minutes early and I'm sweating) The only thing to remember is to stay calm and be careful! The only way your going to get caught is basically if you crash your bike or you have a license plate on it. Which of course my plate is in my trunk, not on the back of the bike. I've had cops pull up behind me and I've went nice and easy 40-45mph until I get a good clearing then I wave bye bye. The worst part is when you get away then another cop in the same area gets the call and starts to chase you. This happened to me once where I got chased 3 times by diffrent cops with 20 minutes! The best part was the last one was a Harley cop, those are pretty funny...

In the US, we have rights, and we have privileges. Wearing a gun is a God-given right, recognized my the US constitution. Operating a motor vehicle is a privilege that you are granted by the state that you reside in. You don't have to drive (ride). The state doesn't have to let you. Why tap dance on a land mine. I had a driver run on me downtown once when I was on foot. I caught him a block later and yarded him out through the window of his car. I would wager that he is probably still what we commonly refer to in layman's terms as a "pedestrian".

My regular riding buddy is a state prison guard. He and I got nailed recently by one of those small-town Barney Fife types riding a Harley-Stratton. I'm 37, married, and by the time I get convicted on this one, my one ticket on my record will be three years old. Doesn't bother me. Be a man. Be responsible for your actions.

i like your style gsxrboy, i doubt i would last 1 second like that. im to young to get any leanway. oh yeah, kirk. do you think an 18 year old can afford a wreckless driving, impound, go to jail, and possibly lose his bike? FK NO! yeah if im cruisin like 7mph over and dont feel like running i might take the hit. but guess what if im caught wheeliyng or speeding i have only 1 choice. Run like hell. I think gsxrboy would agree with me on this one. hey gsxr, have you ever let yourself been pulled over and what happend with the whole plate thing?

Well, I did just that. Decided to stop, on a highway nonetheless, figuring the f'head statey would just give me a warning because I've been clean for over 2 years...

What a mistake, wrote me up for 72 in a 55. What really pissed me was that it was during traffic and two cars and a truck passed me as he radared me!! I asked him about that and he said it was just my turn today, as he gloated about like giving a 'Busa a ticket was some kind of Statey Nerd trophy.

It will be the last time I stop for a cop on my 'Busa.

If you are lucky enuf to have an International Airport near you it can be used to outrun a police helecopter. They cannot violate Federal airspace without permission.Just find the road that is near the runway. Not that out running a helecopter is a problem with a Busa.

I can see both sides, I have ran but never like crazy. a bike can go from 0-60 in no time. so turn a couple of corners (safely) then go about your way. but if there is traffic and other pedestrians then you are doing something that not only puts you at risk but others as well. yes a bike stops pretty good, but not if your not on it. Just keep on mind that others share the road especially children. PS they rape men that hurt children in prison.

see and your probably an adult. what do you think they would do to a "kid with a crotch rocket"? they would probably pull their gun, kick me off the bike and say i refused arrest and beat me! It sucks being young. either way im gonna get fkd so i mine as well run. i know the day i decide to pull over is the day i will have to sell my busa. i wont be able to afford insurance anymore etc. fking pigs.

You guys are funny, your willing to turn a minor traffic ticket into a criminal offense.
Not to mention the chance of crashing and killing yourself.

lets not even talk about the azz whoppin you gonna take if the man catches you.

Its like a feeding frenzy when they catch you.

c_rod2000 - I've been stopped twice for not having a plate. When the cop ask where my plate is I just pull it out of the trunk and give them an excuse like it fell off earlier. If I'm not doing anything to bad I'll stop any day of the week, 5-10mph over or something stupid. Usually cops are pretty cool when you stop, espeically since I have about 8 friends that are cops.

kirk - Let me get this straight, say your going down the highway in a 70mph zone at about 170mph, if I cop flips on his lights your going to stop? Let's see I'm don't care if you haven't had any tickets in 10 years this one time will most likely take your license away! Considering you are going to jail and you bike is going to the impound yard. Not to mention about 6 tickets and about $3000.00 in fines. No thanks I'll be a man and keep going!

The last hit I took was a couple years back for passing in a No passing Zone or double yellow. ( beat the ticket) But, what burns me is it wasn't a week later that I was following the same cop and he was following a slow truck and yep, you guessed it, he passed on a double yellow. I live in a small town and I know the State boy and where he lives and he was just going home from his shift. Seems like some police have laws for them and laws for the people. DOUBLE STANDARD HIPOCRITES!

Gixxer1300R - Hey a litle FYI on helicopters, they can only go about 140 mph so there not to hard to outrun on the Busa. Just get on the highway and open it up.

Lofty Busa - Criminal Offense? Hmmm I think 100-120mph over the speed limit is not only a criminal offense but it is a felony! Like I said if I'm within reason I'll stop everytime but if I'm cranking it up there is no way I'm stopping...

Kirk, I may not know the rest of the story..oh by the way are you related to paul harvey? But if a cop is "on a mission" and passes in a double yellow NO PASSING Zone..shouldn't he have his light on and shouldn't he be going somewhere besides home?

Hey, don't take offense. Man, I don't know you from squat, but there are bad cops and there are good cops. I would hate to live in an area without cops. I support my State Police and am a sponsor of my states, State Police Pefessional Association. One of our club members is a State Police.

If you read my post closely I said "some" police have double standards. I am sure if you tell the truth you would agree.
Later Captain Kirk....Beam me up Scotty!!!

I live in NY city and we have a castapo mayor that made a rule if you travel twenty miles over the speed limit and get caught you go to jail for reckless endagerment. Your bike gets towed to the pound and they try to keep the impounded vehical. All for going seventy five miles an hour or better. So in my case you are a fool not to run. Can't ride all day in first gear. Oh if you do get caught it is a fellony here. It is called unlawful eluding. The one thing you got going for you if speeds go over 100 MPH the cops are to break off the chase. But that usally dosen't happen until you loose them.

Well, it had to happen to me sooner or later. I was out on a ride with another busa last saterday morning as we entered the highway on ramp at 100 plus mph we must of passed a unmarked police car. Crap we then speed up to I guess 160mph and was starting to slow when I noticed the car right behind me at 120mph. The other Busa rider (who is on this board and I will not use his name) was able to make it to a inside lane and exit the highway. Well, if he got another ticket I think his rideing days along with the driving days will be shot or limited. So off I run leading this cop away from his exit. I finally pull over 1 mile down the road. Boy was this guy piss*d off. First the insurance and license came out. Well, then then charges come up, improper lane use, speeding 120mph in a 60mph zone, inspection sticker is 14 days over due, no cycle endorsement, reckless driving, and now my bike is about to be impounded. Boy, did my butt pucker up when I heard this stuff. Stuck in jail on a weekend, and with limited funds this was not looking good for me. I started to try to talk my way out of this mess with a big story. He did listen and cut me a great deal. The only thing I got was 120 in a 60 mph zone and that was SP3. Which means it goes down on paper as 11 to 19 over. The fine was $90.00. The police were looking for the other busa rider since he caught his plate but he then ditch him. But, the time spent dealing with me gave him time to make it safely back to the house. Well, the things I learned here are DON'T STOP AFTER YOU HAVE FU*KED UP LIKE THAT! KEEP GOING A THINK ABOUT IT LATER. I got lucky this time but twice, no way. I know some of you folks don't agree, but all those charges what's one more, running from the police. If you run, do it safely as you can. Live to ride another day.

ambush) how do you know they rape guys in prison for that? personal experience! lol

gsxrboy) cool thing is we hardly have to worry about getting chased by the choppers. this aint LA where thier is thousands at disposale.

Lofty abuse)if you cruised by a cop doin 170mph you would have to wait up the road for about 10minutes before he even got their!

the point i was making was that if i get caught doin somethin really bad im runnin.wheelies, high speed, my age, im going to jail! im taking a guess but most of you are close to 30 yrs. give or take. im 18. they will fk me! ive already experienced what happens when you get stopped in a buddys mustang. not good.

This thread is idiotic. If you're man enough to go 150+, you're man enough to take the heat. Just pull your *** over, or take your *** to that jail thread. :)

i cant agree with that logic on this one thradar. your prob. a cop. have you ever been pulled over doin a 150mph? your going straight to jail. fines etc. hell you prob havent had your bike past 120mph!lol
