We do have liberals and conservatives and we are a multiple party country, we have Bloc Quebecois, New Democrat Party (NDP), the Green Party and independents...
I joined the military at 17 so never really followed any political party as it wasn't in my best interest to be politically aligned because I had to go do my duty regardless....I never voted once while in uniform....
Since retiring, I have found that I and many other military and first responders are more right aligned.....but are neutral right. I am neutral right with left sympathies as I care about people and their well-being so programs that fit that role are of interest to me.
I've seen enough death and misery for a few lifetimes to be honest.
I am relatively new in any political discussion so I fear that I am often clumsy and not well read.......I do know people though and I do know what leadership looks like and that to me gives me the confidence to speak on world leaders and how they relate to both their peers, enemies and citizens.....
So far I'm not impressed by the American administration....any positive accomplishes are surrounded by questionable decisions and ethics.......I definitely don't like threats made to my and other countries, nor do I like the direction the US is going as far as foreign polices and economy go.
I have a stake in this as my grand parents were born in the US and I have lots of relatives living there who discuss their lives with me quite often.....to top this off, I've spent a good deal of time there training with other special forces units and deploying with them shoulder to shoulders as brothers in arms.
