Not my opinion, just stating facts.
“Years and years” amounts to around 30 years in total, as Ukraine was part of the Soviet Union until they became independent in 1991.
Putin’s popularity this past December was 65%. It has never really been below 60% and at times above 80%. That said, his popularity in Russia has been a whole lot higher than both Trump and Biden here at home have ever achieved.
Sanctions do not scare him, what the West chooses to withhold, his ally China can comfortably provide.
The above are facts.
This part is my opinion, expressed really as a few questions and I don’t necessarily have the answers:
When two doctrines compete with each other, which one will win eventually? :
1.) A democracy where the government of a country spends most of their energy and efforts towards the political fight between Democrats and Republicans. Where every possible solution is debated with political motives and ego, rather than what the people’s real needs are.
2.) A somewhat autocracy, where there is order and some freedom, however Goverment rules, makes the decisions and freedom of speech and opinion is tolerated to a point. That freedom however is not tolerated to the point where it presents obstacles towards maintaining order, harmony and governing the country.

My serious question is; is he really a bad guy??
I ask this because the only info we the general public have on him(outside of you military guys with a better know-how of what's going on in the world) is what the media/aka propeganda machine tells us.
I disagree with socialism and dictartorships as well...but does he really belive he's doing what is best for his country, or is he a power-hungry man who rules with an iron fist?
He seemed willing to work with Trump for the better of both nations...or was there an underlying plot?
Is Russia really an enemy of the west, or the world, or are other world leaders simply playing politics with them because they can?
My uninformed take on it all has always been that if Putin wanted to start a war, he could, and he would be a serious force to be reckoned with, yet he has yet to do so.
What is really going on?
