Russia and Ukraine

I figure if Russia really wanted to invade the Ukraine, they'd have done so. It appears they are posturing for an effect....if we see greater troop movements and the formations of battle groups, then an invasion is imminent.

Russia uses similar tactics to the US.

The media is part of the escalation...some of the headlines are inducing an anticipation of something bad.

The Ukraine government isn't that worried it seems.

Totally concur.

Much like our current posturing in the south China Sea. It's more of a show of force to let everyone know what's possible.

It even went so far as to ask Russia to become a member which is an interesting twist.

The issue I see with the current "rallying of the nations" is they are all rallying against Russia which is led by a man who doesn't back down...they may force him into acting just so he can save face in front of his nation.

I see it differently.

China informs the West to respect Russia’s demands.

So this is the chess game being played.

GDP USA 20T
China 14T
EU 13.4T
Russia 1.4T

USA shows the world what happens when they support a country by abandoning Afghanistan.

China wants to dominate the world.

Russia got away with Crimea.

Next move is Ukraine.

That gives China the green light to take Taiwan and Russia to decide the next invasion towards restoring the might of the old Soviet Union.

China and Russia work together, to form the new world order, while over here democracy sees politicians fighting each other every day and destroying the country.

I hope we don’t see Check Mate in my lifetime, but it is very possible.

Well, everyone is entitled to an opinion...that's not going to change anytime soon.

Empires and their holdings come and go..at one time the UK was one of the biggest empires and now look at where that went....

I'm not a fan of Putin but he doesn't mess around...his mind-set is of a different time and era.

I figure if he had any intention of going into the Ukraine, it would already have happened.
